Nuvi users for speed traps software sequence:
1. download POI loader http://www.garmin.com/support/downlo...ils.jsp?id=927
2. Download POI by Malsing mappers.
http://www.malsingmaps.com/forum/users/tra...b/SpeedInfo.zip
3. Connect NUvi to computer.
4. In your Nuvi SD card, under Garmin folder, create a new folder "Speedtrap POI"
5. create seperate folders like "speed 80", "speed 110" etc. look into the file and you'll understand what i mean. there are numberous speed traps with different speeds.
4. Run POI loader, select the folder that contains the POI's downloaded.
5. click manual selection and change the distance to say 1200M.
6. load the POI.
7. try it out by simulating near any speed trap loaded, you should see the warning before you arrive and the proximity warning should flash on your Nuvi.
LMK.. followed all your steps... but when I ran POI loader it creates a separate POI folder in my SD Card (this is created as a sub-directory under Garmin). Nothing was created in the folders I created (i.e. Speedtrap POI, Camera 70, speed 80, speed 90, etc.). Ran the simulation on Nuvi after downloading, it alerts before traps! Seems to be working...

ok, maybe i have not explain clearly.
you have to create the sub folders yourself manually. this is to allow future updating easy to distinguish what traps you are updating.
if it warns you, means it is working!
Cool, isn't it?

Thanks again. I'll try to look for Stanley. Quite honestly, the CSA that attended to me yesterday don't seems to care too much. If you happen to talk to Stanley and can give him a tinker that your friend (SDF39K, Mr Toh) need some of his excellent service, that would be most appreciate.
Enjoy your Satay Run in Malacca.

PML told me that they don't provide their loaner for my case (Insurance claim). I will have to rent a car myself, pay in advance and submit a claim later. How about your previous case? You mean PML provide you their car?
They provided me with a similar car for the duration of the repairs. I guess they used their rental arm to claim rental. Maybe you can speak with them to get Hertz (Sime Darby Gr) into the picture. More convenient that way.

No lah! I old leow.... normally road hog instead.
I guess you'd only be considered a road hog when you're on the track.

It seems there'll not be much of a change in the upcoming facelifted E60. http://www.autospies.com/article/index.asp...3&categoryId=22
LMK's wish may come thru (535i will also be available) but from what I hear, PML may not bring the 335i in, so it'll probably be the same for the 535i. Don't say it won't happen because they already deleted the 540 and 550 from the Singapore line-up.

disappointment indeed!
Not much changes and no 535?!!
This time, i am going to take my time to change to avoid disappointments again.
Take time to spec the car, take time to love it, build it up and also think of P.I. the new spec'ed car after PML has gone thru all the approvals.

tcc,

i have tried the img file, it cannot be read at all.
i believe you do not have any reg code given to you as well because the maps are pre-install into the rom when shipping.
No luck!

I've tried before by copying the file into another SD, won't work. Garmin sure know how to protect such info, otherwise they would lose big time.

Do you think my plugging the my original SD into the Nuvi will have any chance?
