OT OT OT...
Going to the HKG one?
if you happen to be in HKG take a look at this class D amp... http://www.acoustic-reality.com/ (they sell direct from Denmark but have one and only outlet in HKG) B&O uses this component!

a chap who drives an e60 545i in HKG set this up with his emmlab dcc2; Revel Ultima salon speakers against his killer Mark Levinson 33H power amp (about S$100K setup) and claimed this 3000 Euro AR pair beats the ML square in the face.

tategoi.. you can find out from the website above.

the great thing is this pair of monoblocks weigh only 11kg total with shipping box and puts out 1200RMS in to 4 ohm.
Acoustic Reality sells direct. This is a real beauty. where in HK can i find it?
I have not audition it before, BUt ML33H is a dream! can it really beat it?

LMK & Tategoi,

I must say you guys really show us what is the meaning of a Solid I.C.E. in your cars.
The problem is that modding I.C.E seems to have no boundaries and once you started it, you just have the urge to improve & improve & improve on the quality, right.

At the moment, looks like the budget BZSAB and I intend to spend can only be enough for maybe to mod ..one speaker (right side) only..hahaha

ICE can be subjective. In fact it can be very wide in terms of selection and preference. it boils down to budget, preference and requirements.
Like i have said to you, i used to build up ICE up to tens of K into the car, just to get a better sound.
what you heard now is a basic system with no frills and no complicated setups. Going back to basic and just enjoy it.
Because continuous upgrading and building can be strenous to the mind and your pockets.

Set aside a budget, say, 3K. choose the most bang for the buck. install it and tune it. that is it.
Those i stated is not of hi end, but at least give you the satisfaction of a system at least Don Henley sounded like Don Henley. Drums and bass guitar can be differentiated and not sounded like wind blowing over a sheet of paper.

I am more than happy to help you guys to choose and select components for your ICE, just let me know.
We can go for some audition.

Once you tasted and experienced good sound, 100k is nominal if you want to appreciate High Fidelity.

Zag,

I tried going back into the history of this forum by browsing the first 50 pages. Actually, you are one of the poineers (lao chiao) in this forum. Cheers man!
great to see the circle has grown.. back then there were only a few of us. believe it or not the first e60 forumer from sg i met was totoseow.

yah hor... Fireplace.. i am depressed! no more mod for the car ...need to mod myself ...SK-II where are you? or what is the trick?

nuvi360, audiophile is another disease. there are speakers out there cost S$150K by Kharma or Wilson Audio and amps that costs S$60K and more as well. never mind that... speaker cable and interconnect that cost $10K to $30K for a 3 meter pair. bottomline to these guys is a piano has to sound like piano when played back.. one can spend a fortune chasing that and the so called goose bumps effect.

how many bro here actually into this? i am still a two channel purist.

ya...been there, done that! and broke.
i was into Home theatre a few years back, but 2 channel system is still in my blood.
Nothing beats sitting in front of your 2 giant Wilsons' listening to what we call "sound" after a hard day's work or after a long trip.

HEHE... you need another dracula bite to make you a dracula again....even though you are blessed for now. the itch will come back.
