A 530 will be joining the family soon in August and after reading >50 pages of this thread that just won't die, I am worried about the car.
Honestly, if I have found this thread earlier, the 530 would not have even been considered.
Anyway, shit happens. Good luck to us all.

Don't you worry mate! The car is superb and i wouldn't trade it for any other marque. If i had to do all over again. I will get the 545i but then again here in the island that costs too much to make any sense!

Maldives is a nice place on this crazy world.. been there?

cheers

Maldives Blue, yah, not to worry. The problems are not big problems and with the latest software, should be remedied. Even I kiasu king is not worried. It is a fantastic car to drive. You should be excited and not worried.

sg520i, no more jerk. Acutally, the jerks were rare incidents. PML has no loan car. You have to loan from the MD by banging table.

zag,
Yup. Once 3 years ago. It is an extremely beautiful place! Maldives Blue is the colour of my car.

Guest_Kiasu King,
It will be my father's car, so I doubt I will have many chances to drive it. I have my own ride. Worried about safety of my parents who will most probably be in the car most and their age also means slower reflexes. I await the new car with great trepidation and excitement.

Anyway, I'm interested in the bluetooth phone and sat nav retrofit for the E60 too.

Ed520, the is a definite and noticeable improvement in gear shift and pick up at low speed. Also, the idrive menu screen seems to load immediately when key is turned on. The idle speed engine rev has also been upped and now, the car no longer slides back on slope. DOor squeaking is remedied by anti-friction tape around the door frame. The tapes are noticeable when door is opened and you examine the edges of the door carefully. I am not sure whether the tape will come off over time.
