To all Singaporean E60s :

I'm told by PML that they are currently testing the navigation for E60 in Malaysia now and when it is ready the map will cover both Singapore and Malaysia. I asked PML if some sort of 'navigation preparation' option is required. My sales rep checked with the trainer and the reply was that all Singapore E60s will be able to be retrofitted with navigation when it is available. They are not aware of any sort of 'navigation preparation' option.

What is your understanding regards to availability of Navigation Professional ?

My understanding of Pro Nav from a sales guy is that it is going to set me back by 6000 odd S$

And yes, he said it can be done, retrofit, that is

Wow $6K, I guess Pro Nav is a pretty major upgrade, even the iDrive screen has to be changed. My SE told me the reason they couldn't offer any Navigation is because the new Nav systems are DVD based and none of the local Nav map folks want to do it since the market here is so small, they won't sell many DVDs and make money. I guess that's the problem of being such a small country. The GPS systems on 7s and some 3s were VCD based and cheaper to produce

Nav would make sense for folks who drive up north very often, armed with a Malaysia map DVD.

Any word on bluetooth?

Most of the time when I am on an expressway, I would put my car on cruise control while I relax to the tune of my favourite number. This could be from Changi to Jurong and when I turn into urban traffic with lots of start and go later, the throttle seemed to be less obedient - its like you have to step harder to get the car moving or before it would change into a lower gear.

Anybody else have this experience?

i suggest you bring in to PML and talked to the cust service manager directly. the chap i was referring to in few posts ago has some components changed and so on on his 520i and extended warranty so far he is happy with the ride i guess.

Bro.. have you been here? Share with us you experience!

Just came back from PML. Went there to buy some car care products. Saw a black 530i SFD3K in the garage. Very beautiful car. Anyone here owns it? Also went to inspect the 654i cabriolet. Very nice. 3 series on offer too with sports package. Very nice also.

When the brand new E60 you are driving suddenly stalls on the highway, it is not nice although the car looks very nice!
