hehe...a friend of mine pass me his Porsche 911 turbo in one of my trips and i hit 290+. the other time i was in a rented Farrari 348, it was then i hit 300+ on the autobahns. but i do remember there are a coupe of car that come close to me from behind at that speed and i have to give way to them. cannot really see what car as i am too engrossed in my own speeding car.

No, i do not have balls of steel la, but just to get those experience in a car that goes 300kph!

try it, it is fun!

i think i will have a nervous break down at that speed haha

going up north doing 200++ is bad enough.

the fear of sleepy drivers pulling out any moment or deliberate.

it had happened to me before, this bloody bus pulled out deliberatly and i was lucky to escape but then i was doing only 180km.i felt so angry i wanted to ram him after the incident.

any one know wat speed the planes do when then run before the take off say 747.

If my memory serves me right, take off speed is about 250kph. So, if you add wings on our cars, it will take off just like a 747..kekeke.

I think that little portion in blocks say alot about my afterthoughts. Kopi-O, did you miss the BLOCKS that the words were typed in? I don't see a reason why some should want to rub it in further. Lets not get into a long debate over this. I think this subject should be terminated before sparks start to fly!!!!
Ed,

I am not trying to rub it in at all and I apologise to you if I have offended you. I did see your comment about your feelings afterwards but others felt differently. Don't take it so personally. There is always talk about how fast one would like to drive on these trips up to Malaysia and I am hoping to just ask you guys to be safe and sensible, especially since people tend to get carried away on such group drives. It's just a testosterone thing.

I agree with fireplace about today's cars. They are very safe and capable but the NS highway just was not made like a derestricted autobahn. The lanes are much narrower and there are only 2 lanes up north. Lane discipline is also better in Germany and the speed difference between the slow and fast is not so great since most are travelling at a faster speed.

i hate to do this for the sake of peace in sg related thread but since you kept rubbing it... i have to response!

kopi_o..
now you've referred specifically to "others"... which means some of us in the group that did the drive, all i can say is if you were there that day and seeing/experiencing the condition and how the convoy moved and there after if there is any element that constitute irresponsible reckless excessive speed driving than you have the right to slam us publicly. But since you weren't there and i think passing judgment like that is equally irresponsible of you too. have a nice day!

i think as what edlee wrote.. this topic should be dropped. none of us including yourself are saint for to pass judgment.

I don't want my car to take off like a 747!
Does anyone have any comments on rear spoilers? Are they really effective in keeping our wheels firmly on the ground or are they for decorative purposes only?
