Ed,

Trust the clowns in PML to paint an empty picture of where it is heading and waste our time listening to their story....... only to finally tell us its our perogative to do whatever we want!

Unity is strength, count me in for a petition to AG!

PML is NOT DOING WHAT CUSTOMERS WANT!

The irony is they have a Service Manager who is not giving service
That who can be a friend in name is not friendly at all!

PML is doomed to fail in their hands

Hey guys, thanks.? Will fill you in when we meet.? Not very nice to go into details over the net.

not knowing the details of your problem, i kinda agree with tategoi, unless you intend to walk away completely from bmw marquee, burning bridges might not sound wise so long you are still driving your 545i.
also you mention parallel import, i think it will be even harder to get a recourse should the car you bought through PI ran into minor or worse major nagging problems.

i fully agreed that pml can't be said to be fully competent in all aspects of sales and after sales service, i have my fair share of frustration during my 320i first 365 days. but throughout the ordeals i have built a good relationship with the men on the ground and that is what is important. Certain unspoken previlages are garnered thru this type of relationship.

hopefully you can share your frustration with us during the next meet up so we can fully comprehend your debacle with Pml.

count me in for solidarity against imcompetent bmw after sales service.

Edlee,
Sorry to hear about your experience. Maybe get to hear what its all about when a meet up occurs.

All,

... It has been said that pressing the mute button and eject button of the CD player while starting the engine will restart the i-drive, although no one can confirm this. But I found if I do that, the auto headlight will behave properly again. I just had this headlight on for the past few days in the morning, so I tried this this morning and the system went back to normal. No sure it is by luck or flute or whatever, it? worked a few times but if I remember correctly not consistently. That's why I can't be sure.

Oh, if you want to try, make sure the headlight is completely off first.

I just can't do it. My left index finger pressed the eject button, right one pressed the mute, but then I realised I only have two hands. Show me how you do it alone?

Mute button as the round knob on the CD player side; it's the volume button (just press it); not the button you programmed on your steering wheel. The two buttons are just a couple of inches apart.

Ah, maybe can use your chin?
