I can lose 2 x 30lbs too...
AFS = Active Front Steering... it was launched on the E60s back in 2003 and alot of us swear by it... however, the newer 523 doesnt come with it as there are added costs... 530 should have it as standard but then again... you never know what organs PML left out in order to make the overall price seem cheaper... worth asking to be sure. AFS is not power steering. It is a electro-mechanical variable ratio steering column which makes it stiff when at high speed and extremely agile at low or parking speed. We only need 3/4 turn to make a full U-turn.
HUD = Head Up Display... used to be standard for 530 (no?) and came with a certain batch of Dec05 523s... you should get it especially with you have the GPS built-in. It makes you feel like a fighter pilots. BTW, did you order Wing Flaps?
Not asking you to go PI... but if PIs can import and sell 630, M5 and the lot... and still get BMWAsia to honor the international warranty (warranty claim items are all serviced at PML)... why not give them a chance to quote you? At the very least you can go to PML and say... this chap offer me the same car with the same warranty (minus the cappucino and babe at the service center) for say $25K less... they can do with more discounts or added options. i.e. use it as your bargaining chip...

But all of the us swear by it. Without this, E60 can never be called a BMW! Ask around for opinion.

As what RSLK mentioned, do forget to ask for the wing flap option. This is the only option not listed in their catalog or lastest E60 brochure. Have to vbe very discrete when you ask the saleman for this option, chances is he would says there is not such option. No slaesman would want to recommend this option as it would give them lot of paper work and night-mare.

But please also ask them to set a speed limit... otherwise you ended up like me below... it was scary! :'(

The part number is BMW-E60-SGC-27-A-786492-PS2 ... It only comes in either Black II or JetBlack... If they can't find it... they are not telling your the whole truth and nothing but the truth....
I've checked mine and it's BMW-E60-SGC-27-A-786492-PS2-V3.1. What's the V3.1 stand for? Version 3.1? If so, don't get the old model

Finally, my Nuvi360 is arriving this today or tomorrow after two weeks or waiting.
LMK, if you are not testing it, let me get it from tc to test the address search, my hand is very itchy now.

None of you can beat the deal I got!!! The sales rep threw it in for free to clinch my deal...but only after Ed intervened

Tcc39,
There is another short release yesterday with the revision 3.15. This small update is to take care of the vibration when the engine is at exactly 3005 RPM. Somehow they found it, I do not how. Those who are still having the 3.1, do get the update to 3.15.
By the way, enclosed is the graph showing the increased in power from stock E60 to one that with the option. This graph was produced by BCM association. See the tremendous amount increase in power.
Don't drive your E60 without it!
