[quote name='zag' date='Feb 2 2005, 07:56 PM']anyone planning to take up the PML special offer on the M-sport kit which will last till the end this month?$4K after discount vs. RRP of $5800. Or anyone know we can get more discount?

zag,

I heard totoseow PI the M kit......should be cheaper. Spoke to someone at the BMW.SG meetup and they say that most of the recommended workshops that do BMWs can do the fitting. Best to ask around first.

Any ideas how much the kit is from Munich before PML's markups?

probably toto can comment... from the info i got from him it seems self import costs about $3K plus about $750 for installation so it worked out to be the same given the special offer. So very tempting ler <_< !

I am not sure if the M Kit at PML is the PDC version or non-PDC. You may want to check again.

I will have to see how the kit looks like before deciding. Most likely not yet as I feel the car is too high to get a fierce M Kit at the moment.

Just came back from PML after viewing the M5 kit on a dark blue E60 520i. My personal view as follows:

1. Front bumper does not look good as the fog lamp juts out.
2. Side skirting looks awkward as it protrudes from the side like a blade
3. Back bumper looks like it is jutting out.

Overall, the car does not look elegant with the M5 kit and I would not install it. The promotion price of about $3,900 does not include labour charge.

Also went to Lexus but the new GS300 not available for viewing yet although it has arrived. According to saleman, car pending LTA approval. However, more than 100 units already booked by customers.

Got my 'Aux Input' installed this morning. Loving every minute of it! Finally no more CD's! The job took half a day.

I saw the M5 kit as well. Hate it! Not worth the price. Anyway, I finally found out today that cars in Singapore brought in by PML DO NOT HAVE the Bluetooth TCU! I made my CSA open up the rear section of my booth to have a look. Not there. I feel that we lose out here when the rest of the world get the TCU preinstalled. No wonder we have to pay more than S$2k for the install. As it is, we pay so much more than anyone else. Maybe we should write a group letter carrying as many signatures as possible to BMW Asia for some kind of price reduction. What do you think? I understand from PML Alexandra that only 2 E60's have had the Bluetooth retrofit done so far. That's ridiculous, coinsidering that you see an E60 go past almost every 10 seconds at a busy intersection. That's just not economic sense. :bashwall:

Hi dindae, how did you order the aux input? I spoke with Adrian from parts at Alexander and he seemed to know very little about it. I had to give them the instructions I got from this forum and even the part number. He told me initially that I had to give up the CD changer in order to get the Aux installed

How much did you pay for the aux install? I'm booked for Bluetooth retrofit after CNY, and hoping to do the aux input the same time.

Besides the wiring, is there a need to enable it via software? You did it at PML? Actually I am waiting for the iPod adapter. Its fun to see the titles on iDrive although I am never a fan of MP# audio quality.

I doubt any petition will work. Its willing buyer willing seller when we first bought the car, and there is no promise of TCU nor TCU was in the specs list. What we have paid went to the government and PML profit, what can BMW Asia do?

Yes, the dealer needs to do that activation.

Mute button as the round knob on the CD player side; it's the volume button (just press it); not the button you programmed on your steering wheel. The two buttons are just a couple of inches apart.

Ah, maybe can use your chin?

Haha ok, forgot about that Mute button. OK will try again tomorrow.

Sunday, 13th February Meetup:

7.
8.

OK Guys,
I'm leaving for Singapore tomorrow. So guess I'll meet you all next Sunday 13th. I should be checking this forum when I'm at the hotel.
Anyone want to email me their contact number and name? I've still got totoseow number somewhere but not sure whether he's coming for the meet though.
Oh yeah in case you didn't know I'm Chinese (British Born), so in case who whoever maybe giving me a lift on the 13th was expecting a Westerner...surprise!!!
I'll just have to keep an eye for an E60 outside the hotel
