I was looking forward to it. It really would have been a treat regardless of the outcome or an individual's opinion on the guy. The chance to see a living legend doesn't happen that often. I only saw him race twice in person, and he won both events. I can only imagine the disappointment for those with tickets.

. Oh well, still going to be fun. (Assuming the Abu Dhabi race track is done in time!)

Congrats to Rubens on his win today. Five years is a long time to wait. This has been a season of surprises to say the least.

The race was pretty bland with everyone holding approx 2 second distance for clean air and cooling, but like you wrote, its certainly a season of surprises. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if McLaren did not make the mistake in the pits. Shame about Button and Vettel being out of it, it was almost a race about nothing. That said it will no doubt make the later races more interesting with the top 4 in the overall rankings being pretty close together now.

The highlight for me was Ruben's reaction after the race. It was great to see that there is still so much driving passion still there and not just someone seeing their days out / earning their wage

Yes, this was an extremely dull race. There was one single overtaking/pass after Lap 1 of the race.

The highlight IMHO, were the shots of Vijay Mallya's "ship" parked in the harbor.
