Not only did Fisichella dog it (with more than one eye on the stories of a possible move to Ferrari, I suspect), I also thought Raikonnen was at fault for the sequence of events that led to the incidents on the first lap which took out a few key players. Coupled with the safety car, it ultimately gave him the win. I'm surprised he never got called on it, the commentary team on Speed made much the same point.

Yep, he ran wide coming out of La Source & picked up several spots to 3rd, dragged pass to 2nd with KERS (which was fine) but he then overcooked Les Combes, cut that corner then clipped a car rejoining & big pile up behind him.....no problems, the car is red.

Congrats Patrick Looks like he doesn't have to race Fiats in Rally Races after all
Good race, but like Phill mentioned, it would have been nice to see Fischella have a crack at P1. It would however appear that (future) team orders take priority
This F1 season is just nuts Should make for some interesting last races though. I wonder who Glock will let pass on the last bend in the last race this year...

Fisichella had no way of getting past R?ikk?nen. He may have been a good second a lap quicker but that doesn't help when the car in front is blocking you and taking the faster line and saving his KERS boost for the only places where your higher speed could allow you to get past. Fisichella said it himself in the post-race interview that he was faster, and the Ferrari boss said he was faster, but faster doesn't get you past against a KERS car on a track like Spa. They were saying before the race that R?ikk?nen was the favourite if he could get to the front because he'd be almost impossible to overtake.
Look how many times this season the Ferraris and McLaren's have backed the field up behind them. Normally you use your KERS button on a lap (like qualifying) where it makes the most sense and gives you the most benefit. In the race though, when there's someone behind you, it gets saved for the moments when someone with a faster car would use their advantage to pass you. That's when you deploy your KERS and for that brief few seconds your car is the faster and you've spoiled their chance.

And R?ikk?nen has now explained that he changed the way that he used KERS during the race.
Originally, he planned to use it up and through Eau Rouge and toward the end of Radillion. He changed that to using it almost entirely from Stavelot to Blanchimont in order to defend any overtaking move. That worked perfectly.
I think that the only way that Fisichella could have passed R?ikk?nen would have been if he would have made a mistake somewhere.
Guess not.
Monza is going to be extremely entertaining.

Fact is, Kimi and Ferrari did a 100% race at Spa in Belgium! Congrats!
What a race, from sixth on the grid to winner and by race driving all the way,
with not the fastest car, but with KERS.
First a great start, then a smart maneuver in turn one, hard up the hill.
After the re-start a 100% take over with the KERS.
A 100% drive for more than 40, very long and very fast laps,
for one and a half hours including two perfect pit stops.
Very well done, Kimi!
Congrats also to Force India and Fisichella for a great race.
