I think hermman's coder has FLASHED a new firmware. This is different then coding. I believe he fed new firmware into old shiftbox using WinKFP or like tools. Resistors he soldered on pcb was perhaps for sports button to work.
Does steering go stiff aswell hermman?

I got SAT installed yesterday and it was functional just after the hardware swap except the cosmetics of SPORTS sign on the speedo cluster everything was working without coding. As soon as I pressed the sports button steering was very stiff and required a lot of extra power to rotate, press sports button again and everything back to normal. There was not hesitation or glitch in gear change. I have 535d and always felt the lag at lower end and had a doubt it could be the gear shifting at wrong time, believe me after SAT there is no lag. I may be over excited but this is initial feel, damp roads aren't suitable to test and try this so will confirm it later once I get chance to try it a few times. If I floor it rear-end starts going places (obviously DSC deactivated) or car starts bouncing. Its so much torque it can't be contained. I have made a video of old shifter's rpm and shifting pattern before putting this on, I will film this too and compare the shift time later.
Just for my own satisfaction later I coded $2TB, took off $205 (or whatever for normal auto) and coded KOMBI and SPORTS appeared too. One slight glitch was rpm needle wasn't moving after coding KOMBI but changing RPM in trace fixed that. Not sure how you guys get S1-S6 I don't get S but I get M instead like M1-M6. Do I need to flash with EGS with different firmware? Can someone guide me here, don't want to fry EGS with wrong firmware.
All in all a good update and didn't cost much. I paid £200 for parts on eBay and £10 for postage. All coding done on my own. No steering wheel change just the shifter.
