Do you now have the firm steering? I have the 6HP19 gearbox too.
Welcome back, hard steering with above parameters, I can say that again. I'm using it.
S1-S5 display is same situation as AI001. Even 6HP19, a lot of progress. I'll PM you.

#7. S1~S5 sign displayed instead of M1~M6
in DS mode, try paddles, S1~S5 must be displayed if coding was perfect
#3 You should definitely notice this if its all working correctly. This is only when the "sport" button is pressed vs. not pressed - ie. in manual without button pressed, feels like the clutch "eases" out/into gear to make it as smooth as possible; with sport button pressed, gear change is near instant/almost abrupt. Someone did a video of this earlier you might be able to find.

#7 S1-S5 does not appear instead of M1-M5. S1-S5 appears when in DS (automatic) mode to tell you which gear the transmission is in (instead of just displaying 'DS'), but changes to M1-M6 once you use the paddles or gearshift and go into manual mode.

Can I just put the gear knob on my 2006 550i Automatic ?
I can get lights from somewhere. I'm only concerned about the illuminated knob.
Do you know the part number ? thanks !

Thank you very much Wpg550, both of them clear definition. All others ok? I'm still under retrofitting for it.

Yes but we have M1-M6 for some strange reason!

A friend of mine has 2007 335d (UK specs) and his steering has paddle shifter (e90 style) and he has heavy steering all the time as he doesn't have SAT shifter and no sports button. Is 2TB only for 5/6 series not for 3 series? He wants to retrofit the shifter but don't know what parts are required, can someone help here please.

I wanted to know if you could accurately encode the same even without paddles behind the wheel

Yes the paddles can be "turned off" via coding. If this is not done, the SAT sees it as an error when it does not detect the paddles as present and goes into a sort of "safe mode" and won't let the shifter stay in manual shift mode.
