Here's a neat one:

If you stick your key in the keyhole in the door then turn it, you can open the door without having to use the remote.
Remember to pull the door handle after turning the key... haha!

I've never tried that on my car!!! I should really try that sometime.

You can't change that setting in iDrive -- it's a mechanical thing. It could be worse -- in a Mercedes, the door would unlock and open with only one pull!
no what i mean here is the locking and the unlocking thing! you can just shut the Auto locking down and thats it! no need for passenger doors to be auto locking!

From what I understood, the compartment is only present if the car has Logic 7. My old 2005 535d did not have the compartment, but my 2007 M5 does. The bigger logic 7 amp means the panel is a slightly different shape creating a empty space below. The empty space was put to use creating the storage compartment.
I agree with the others -- I had L7 on both of my E60s and only the 2004 had the compartment. Clearly, there's an additional component behind there on cars with no compartment. I initially thought the component had to do with the night vision system (the video module) but now I'm not so sure...

Sorry maybe i didnt make myself clear
I actually don't want any of my passengers getting out of the vehicle until I unlock all doors myself

I don't think that solves the problem of a passenger unlocking the door with a double pull. If auto locking is off, then the door would open on a single pull which would likely be worse.

As far as a need for passenger doors to auto lock, from a carjacking standpoint, all door should be treated equally and should be locked automatically...

I didn't realize my score was reset to zero. Don't I get credit for the past?
So that's how they score in matches in the US?

I'm not talking one match, I'm talking championship!

1 - 0 was a strange score to be reflecting on "resetting" in the context of a championship!

Here, championships are sequenced by the accrual of points from individual matches.

Ever felt "out-analed"...?

I don't usually like to use the words "felt" and "anal" in the same sentence...
