Depends on what tip you're referring to.

In the US, you can't have the mirrors automatically fold and you can't close the windows and roof from the key fob...

Yes that's what I was talking about. So we have automatically Unfolding mirrors, at least it was not an option

Yep. The fact that they are linked to the computer and will unfold automatically once you reach around 20 mph shows that the systems are there for this option, it has simply been disabled here in the US (and North America?) through programming. Similar to the hold the key fob and close all the windows and sunroof. Can be done in Europe, just not here...

Wouldn't want to accidentally pinch anyone's fingers in the mirror and get sued now, right BMW?

I wonder if BMW did an "Attorneys per Capita" study and that's why the US can't have this option? Uh-oh...I'm in trouble now...no offense meant

Well, for a First Post, this will be anti-climactic, but here goes...

Not sure if everyone else knew about this, but I found it by accident. There is a "useless" piece of armrest next to the flip-up door for storage. That piece of armrest will slide forward a few inches to extend the armrest (I guess for added comfort). However, I usually never slide it forward, as it seems like an ideal spot where it already is...

+1! Nice observation and welcome to e60.net! What I like about that silly sliding piece is that at just the wrong time I seem to hit it with my elbow...and off it goes. I think it's intended to make sure you realize the car's in charge, and you aren't.

1-
If you are listening to the radio and "all stations"
if you reach the last station, it will go the first one if you use the steering controls to change the station ( and vice versa from the first to last)
Will not if you use the i drive

OR wait, is it the other way around

2-
if you have the power tailgate set to open all the way (via i drive option), and during its opening it seems to get close to a roof (eg parking garage), just hit the close button once and it will stop opening immediately

I like how when you're in the iPod screen and you press up on the steering wheel it actually moves down instead. Gives you that inverted axis fighter jet feeling!! ::sarcasm::

Not sure how much of a "trick" this is, or if it?s an obvious feature, but I did not expect it to happen and it kind of surprised me.

Let?s say the sunroof is slid all the way open, but you want to close it and then have it tilted open only. You don?t have to actually close it first and then press the button to tilt it, you can just press the sunroof button in while the sunroof is still slid open and it will automatically close and then tilt open. It works the other way around too; if it?s tilted open and you push the button all the way back as if to slide it open, it automatically tilts the sunroof close and then slides it all the way open.

I'd get this looked at by the dealer, mine doesn't do this and that's not the way it's supposed to work...
