My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.
If your steering wheel stops going up and down when you either start the car or shut off the engine, you need to raise the steering wheel all the way up, then all the way down.
After you set it back to your driving position, it should resume normal operating condition.
This is almost like resolving the active steering failure by turning the wheels left and right, lock to lock, but with a different twist.

Saw this ability referenced in the manual, and I've tried in earnest to move the rest fwd, however, w/o much force for fear of yanking it out of the console. haven't been succesful in moving it yet.

Probably not on all models but the little pull out and retractable arm rest that is located above the handbrake. (this extension over your handbrake allows you to rest your arm more forward...closer to the gear shift).
Anyway, while in Drive or Sport, you can pull it out and it will lock in place. When you shift to back to park, or turn off ignition and leave the the arm rest will auto unlock and retract back into place!
Try it!...for some reason it doesn't allow it to lock into place unless your in "Drive" or "S", it just keeps retracting.

this is my idea of Comfort Seats
if you pull on the base of your headrest from the back it will slide forward about an inch

Here are some pics of my right hand drive BMW. Note I made an error in my previous assumption, it's actually the handbrake down that allows this arm rest to lock into place. When you lift the handbrake up it disengages the lock and the arm rest retracts in.

Found the trunk handle right away, and the window/sunroof deal was the same on my E39 remote. Use it often down here in the sunny south. Great to roll the windows down while you are walking across the parking lot on a hot day.
I need to read the book more to learn how to do the automatic settings in the climate area. I think you can set it to turn the fan on and swap the air out at a certain time correct? Anyway much more reading to come.

2005 E60 does not have that flashlight standard. nor the 12v plug in the passenger footwell. it does have the emergency key holder.
