Yeah I got it too... have bought many items via internet and courier over... but this is the FIRST time I had to pay silly GST... wonder why...
GST sure must pay one lah. Even the interface we bought attracted GST. My Hamann from Germany also did.

Only if you are able to classify on the invoice " sample - not for sale" can you escape GST.

yes but does the maps work i cant seem to get my nuvi to read it...just like all technical stuff for me cant work.i think i need to take up an IT course.

ah boa informed me you have real good speakers are you considering the H701...haha
hey guys did you all receive a tax invoice from fedex how come expansys did not pay for it.
it should read no prob, you need to place it in the garmin folder.
i use ADS, those made in USA components, power amp and speakers.
i have processors but i did not put it in this ride, as long as i have clean clear sound and bass, i am happy.
A processor needs to fine tune by a analysor and skills needed to make it sound good.
I have played with too many car audio systems, time to go back to basics. you can audition it to see which one you prefer. Tategoi and Bugaboo got good setups, try it and decide yourself before deciding.

yo i am interested in this h701 every body is raving about.where did you get yours and who tuned it for you.how much.
what is your set up components and cost..I am really green i did not know you have ti run it in and tune it like a carTIA
All systems need to be run-in, especially audio, because you need to loosen the speaker cones and tweeters. Electronics also need running in as well. Generally you need to run in for 200-300 hours, I went back for tuning 3 months after installation.

My system was done by Swift Motion, mainly using Diamond Audio speakers and amps. Click on my signature for some pictures.

You need to pay GST for goods above S$400. Perhaps previously the declared amount is less than S$400? Otherwise you have been evading tax, its an offence you know

The last time I mail ordered a pre-amplifier for US$1,000 and was slapped with S$80 GST. However, I returned the pre-amp but Fed-Ex said I still have to pay the GST once the goods arrived in Singapore. Whether or not I choose to keep the item is irrelevant. No time and too lazy to pursue with IRAS. Any thoughts?

One way to get around, as what Edlee had say, declared as sample or returned from repair.

Ed,

Was at your neighbourhood last nite. The No. 64 "M5" was just 2 house away from my friend's place. On closer look, not so nice liao because this guy modded everything including quad exhaust, front fender, M5 logo but still retain the stock mirror. A bit of a wasted effort.

Am I allowed to? This is strictly a E60 GTG... I would be stoned to death if I dare venture there in a MB... :'(

Unless we invite my Alter Ego... SDY33B who happens to have a Black SLK with AMG kit... heard that the bloke will have it by Tuesday night...
