i order from uk site and later got this email...

Dear Sir / Madam,

In order for us to ship your order our bank require that we have a
fax copy of your order confirmation, both sides of your credit card
and some form of photo ID (a drivers license or passport is best)

I understand that this can be a burden but it helps us and our bank
to protect you from credit card fraud and you need only do it once -
when we have seen your details you can order from us again without
the need to re-send them.

more likely fraud from them if i gave all my details

what a nusiance is that the same for you guys or is it me only.

yes, usually different mailing address they need this info. in the USA, i hv this issue too. As i need them to send to my USA address but my credit is Singapore.
i fax them my details and everything is ok and they send immediately and true, they only need to do once to verify the genuine buyer and not fraud. Any dealings after this, no more verification needed.

Question: Since the maps are relative expensive (between $300 - $400) would there be free updates? If maps are updated constantly, do we have to pay for each updates? If so, then si peh siong!

Had a meeting at Hampshire Road today! Would have been great if I already had the nuvi.
i think, the updates is up about every 6 months.
GARMIN in the past usually put a free update coupon in the box. Therefore the first year is pratically free.
But you still can use the map without updates, only a longer detour thats all.
an update will cost something like 50-75 usd and can be obtain from garmin website.
but there are some minor updates Garmin put up at their website at no charge.

ya, i think the bluetooth is cool.
ya I thought about this for a while, but decided not to get the 360 since the E60's bluetooth is already quite flakey, didn't want a situation where the Nuvi's BT might clash with it.

Yup, I buy lots of my toys from overseas too. They'll normally do that if you are mailing your item to a different address than your credit card's billing address or if you are not using a local credit card. You'll only need to do it once.
