I am not sure about Lexus, Mercedez too have foul air-con smell. Just blast your a/c at maximum every day before and after every journey, the smell should go away in a week's time.

Wow!!! Thats a good car for a single guy!!! Nice hothatch with plenty of zip. Beautifully put together interior. I'm sure consumption also much lower - if Tategoi's chosen the R32, congrats to him.

Thats a cool car. Saw a blue one today. Love those twin pipes in the middle.

Tried getting myself to like the CLS but our friends here offer very negative feedback.
Hi Ed,

Father-in-law just got a CLS - not bad lah
the new V6 3.5L quite a keen performer

the interior is a little "lao ah pek" with so much wood
& i just cannot get over paying $80K more for E-class W211 underpinings

but it is one of the better looking mercs around with good build quality

am on a leased VW Golf now while waiting for my new car to come in Sep
- boy do i miss my e60 even with all its faults.....

Yeah, all Mercs look very Ah Pek on the inside, but trimmings can be changed to make them look a little more youthful.

Anyway, ITE (its the end) of continental cars for me. Like I mentioned previously, maybe a Lexus in exchange for the 545. Looking forward to the new LS 460, or even the Honda Legend, i.e. if Kah brings them in. If they look good, why not? If not, then the GS 300 or the Accord will suffice.

I've got such temperamental cars in the M6 and the 545, I cannot afford more headaches and heartaches with more problems by idiotically placing my faith in another.

caught the same itch as Ed. Dissatisfied with the 525 already and itching for more robust performance...went to PML and ask about 540 or 550 and was told that PML/BMW Asia will not bring these models in, even on indent basis. Hmmm...wonder why. Has anyone asked about 540 and 550 in Singapore?

Anyway, eagerly awaiting the arrival of 335, and infact, prefer the coupe/cabriolet model, which should be end 2007 or early 2008...if I can stand the itch.

Guess will live with my current ride for another year and see what comes along by then.

Just curious, between a E60 540 or 550 versus the new E92 335 coupe or 335 coupe/cabriolet. Which would you go for?

The difference is between 2 door and 4 door. If you're a family man, then go for the E60.

There is some talk about the 535i. Whether its true or not is yet to be seen but I'm sure it'll be quite a car; if it does materialise at all. People are even saying that BMW is coming up with a 4.4Li turbo which will be meant for the new 7 series.

I'd suggest you wait for the E60 facelift. They might introduce the 535i then and you'll be smiling like a cheshire cat then.

Wow...if the 535 bi-turbo is in the pipeline, that would be an excellent choice. Guess will have to hold on till end of the year and see if any news by then.
