Seriously it is a legal issue for them. I will do this also if I know I can potentially be sued, anywhere in the world; though less likely in Singapore, there is a possibility.

Just have to do this lor; on the engine, and straight-away give the knob a bang.?

Like what Kigerka said, the programmers could have make the message flash once a day or even for a couple of seconds before returning to the idrive screen automatically. Or even let owners sign an idemnity form when taking delivery; anything but having that idiotic message !

But no choice lah, if forget to bang the knob, then cannot even see PDC in action. So I do this lor; on the engine, CURSE THE PERSON who decide that this stupid message has got to be there, then bang the knob and drive off!

Wait a minute!... the letter you got is date Aug 2004. My conversation with Frank was sometime in Sept 2004.

Olivin, who is the boss? Frank or Benhard? I believe it is Frank if it is not.. he was taking me for a ride. Time to call MD again and clarify!

The way they wrote the letter is FOS! One question to them.. what about EEC version and the 7 series?

PML told me my PDC retrofitt for E60 520 is on the way. NO issue with software.

Just saw the E60 Hong Kong Sub-Forum thread trying to beat this kiasu Singaporean E60 thread. By the way, Singapore always competing with Hong Kong in many things. lol

Was told that 520 iDrive software cannot handle PDC, and workshop has stopped installing them? BMW told them they will need to order the right iDrive software if PDC is needed. Sure or not ...

Since BMW doesn't know who will be driving the car, the message is displayed each time. It's not a big deal in the U.S.

Just called PML. PDC part has arrived but not the bootlid button. Will need to leave car at workshop for 2 days to do the retrofit.
