It seems to me that there are now more people and messages in this Forum than Roadfly. This forum has a very good format in that one glance, you can see what each thread is about. The Roadfly forum has no topic header.

Thanks for the clarification Edlee. I'm gonna try it out tonight.

Totoseow,

Well I'm back in the UK. Thanks for the meet up on the first day I was there. Pity no one else was free to meet up. Could have seen more E60s. Actually visted PML in Alexandra Road a few days later to check out the cars.

Thanks

Edlee, thanks for the explanation. I think only the 525i and 530i come in bi-xenon, 2004 520i come in standard xenon. So whenever I high beam the light throw is yellow, very pai seh

AFAIK there is no such thing as standard xenon on the E60. Only get bi-xenons.
You can easily tell which cars have the bi-xenons, as the main headlight has a circular bulb. You can't see the filment bulb like in the halogens. When I was at PMl the other day, I saw an E60 there with no Xenons, just the normal halogen headlights.

The bi-xenons have been discussed on this forum before.
1). When normal headlights are on, the low beam xenons (blue tinge) are on.
2). When left stalk is pulled back (flashing) the halogen headlight bulb (inner light, nearer the grille) flashes (yellow tinge).
3). When left stalk is pushed forward (constant main beam), the main xenon is activated by mirrors.

Hence the bi-xenon name. Used for low-beam and high-beam. But not used as part of flashing.

Hope I made sense.

The compatible phones not very interesting leh. I will consider only if the newer SE k- and S-series are in.

Just curious, given it is blue-tooth technology, why is there a need for compatibility? All blue-toothed phones should work, shouldn't they? And why the Adaptor, Snap-in?

OK, I shall try a push to see if its xenon.

The E60 you saw must be one from the 2003 production. I was told all 2004 ones are xenon. Therefore if any forumers here looking to buy a 520i, be sure to ask for xenon.
