Attached are current BMW Documents that identify compatible phones by network. My Motorola V600 on the Cingular Network works well. It is on the list. I like the V600 a lot.

[/quote]I really don't know what they will charge if anything. They haven't charged me yet for anything. Software updates, Bekkers tail light install, rear wood install. I bought a bottle of wine for my salesman, gave an old laptop to the sales manager, (they do the deals) a bottle of wine each to my service advisor and the shop foreman. They like me, I like them. If there is some BMW policy in place that prevents them from doing the upgrade under warranty I expect them to charge me for the labor. Otherwise, oops the assist signal icon is not displaying. Flash my software under warranty and connect the cable. Thank you very much.
I run a service business. I know that my engineers go the extra miles for the nice customers who are friendly, courteous and appreciative of the work we do. We also deal with some real a**holes. They don't get the same treatment even though "the customer is always right." As hard as I try for that not to be the case, its human nature.
I have written to BMWNA about the excellent service at my dealer and copied them. They like things like that, so I am on a first name basis with the GM too.
Long and the short of it is... I will pay whatever they want or nothing.

Test Results
The phone volume control has no bearing whatsover on the volume heard by the person at the other end.? I tried my V600 with volume set at 7 and 2.? It made no difference at all.? The mediocre audio quality is a BMW volume problem that can be fixed with software changes.?

Did you change the volume ON the phone DURING the call?
Besides a changes on the mic by the dealer, tuning down the volume on my nokia during a call helped increasing the quality of the sound for the listener.
I also noticed that after the mic change the voice control for my phone understood me better!
I agee it can improve more.....

My Nokia 3620 transfers--via bluetooth--my calendar, to dos and address book, complete with pictures. Makes me happy... but it doesn't look like 3620 is compatible with BMW.
:'(
Peace.

I'm currently using a SonyEricsson P900 phone with a Plantronics BT headset (3000). Works fine.
When I get my new car I'll have to use an old Nokia 6310i phone. I'll compare how that combination works, and post the results here.
New car arrives mid November though.
