My Ride: 2008 535xi (e61)
2008 535xi - After reading the thread I'm still wondering what exactly to get in the way of offset.
I gather anything from 30-43 will work...I'll going to run staggered 20's 9.5 front, 10 in back and don't want to use spacers.
Whats a nice med. aggressive wheel offset?
I'll make tires cater to the offset.
Thanks!

My Ride: 2006 530iX, premimum package, cold weather package, xenons
Found a set of VMR 710's @ BMP Design, they offer 18x8.5 35 offset and 18x9.5 45 offset for 2006 530XI for $900 delivered.
I see where the 710's also come in 18x9.5 33 offset, would this work better in the rear than the 45 offset.
I plan on putting on Hancook VMR710 - 245/40/18 - 275/35/18 for tires.
Ready to pull the trigger but want to make sure I have the best fitment.
Can any one give me some guidance?
Thanks

My Ride: 2008 530xdA Touring (E61 LCI)
2005 330CiC (E46)
2003 BMW C1 125 Executive - fully loaded!
2006 911 Carerra (997)
Wish I had seen this thread before bidding / winning and picking up the following in an online auction:
BMW style 124(original)
-front : 8x18 / 20
-rear : 9x18 / 32
-spacing: 5x120
... for my E61 530Xd (2008)
From the thread, it may be that the ET20 for the front may have the wheels stick out too far?
They were advertised for E61's but I hadn't realised the X was "different" until I started search for which rubber to mount on them.
Will this setup work or have I just wasted time / money on these wheels They're in great condition and I got a good price (circa US$650)...
Thanks for any support
Gary.

Work? Yeah it'll fit no problem ...
It'll stick out ... now if you going for protrude the fender (or stick out a bit) look especially up front like on pic #8 ... here's what it'll look like:

Thanks very much for the quick reply, that's great Although I hadn't planned on protruding the fender, it doesn't seem to stick out much at all to be honest and actually looks good (at least from the photos in the thread you refer to).
Time to go and choose some tyres then
Best,
Gary.

OK, It's been a month since I started my research into the world of custom wheels or rims, is up to you what term you wish to call these exotic contraptions. Some, will call it art in motion and others the missing piece. I call it the final reason for her to divorce me. A women will never understand why we go after the secular lifestyle of showing off our chariots. It's the way we tell the world how unique and different we are from others. The people that don't have a clue why they wake up in the morning or how to act. For the rest of us we do it like this. I just pulled the trigger and ask for forgiveness later. Here is what all my research guided me to buy.
Wheels: Vossen VVSCV7 Silver Polished .
Bought new at a great price. Expecting delivery in a week.
Front 9.0 +35 5x120 76.52 hub centric Vossen recommendation
Rear 10.5 +42 5x120 76.52 hub centric Vossen recommendation
Thinking of buying.
Tires: Michelins Sport A/S Plus are a option. Probably will wait for the new Sport A/S Plus 3 scheduled for May. But at that time they will not have the 245/35/20. Maybe later in the year. I should wait until June maybe they will have them. NOT, I know myself, I won't wait. Even if I'm in Afghanistan, U.S.A ETA June for R&R. I would like to see my chariot 2009 528ixDrive stock with new shoes soon.
Front 245/35/20 WheelTec Recommendation
Rear 285/30/20 WheelTec Recommendation

Are you sure about that? I've heard from multiple sources that 245/35/20, 285/30/20 on 20x9 et35 fronts and 20x10.5 et42 rears is the recommended setup for xi 5 series cars.

I don't think 245/35x20 on 9" wide ET 35 would be "recommended" because that's just about identical to my own "over-sized" 245/45x18 on 8.5" wide. It does fit, but it's close and would not work on a lowered car.

If anything, these 9" front wheels with a 35 offset should sit just slightly inside of what I'm running now with the 18's and of course the tire would be the same width.
