I mean, it is half an inch against a known allowance of 2mm. Half an inch is what? ~13mm? about that. Of course those ~13mm spread between sticking out and going in deeper... theorizing could go on for a while here, but ultimately, I do think you'll run into some issues. Doesn't mean you shouldn't try - I've seen a guy put on a set of 20's with ET18 offsets on his Xi. Ended up ripping up his tires during one of our meets - was scary.

Would be too wide up front and most likely will rub - with or without fender roll.

Would come out too far in the back - this is whether you go with 20's or 19's.

For what it's worth, these 9" ET32 are 18" wheels. I would probably have 255/40x18 tires. My car is not and will not be lower than stock sport suspension. Having load leveling rear, it should not be sagging when fully loaded up with people and gear.

I am fine with having the roll fenders. I'd also be fine with pulling but I don't think these fender shapes would really allow it without looking bad.

I finally read threw this forum from page 1 to now! I guess you can say I am getting ready for some rims. I mentioned I have a set of 19" BBS rims with et20 offsets 8.5 front 10 rear. I think I will try contacting BBS to see if they can change the barels for the offset desired? If this is possible what would be the ideal offset set up with 19X8.5f 19X10r. et30 et33? or is it safer to got et32 et 35? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

I recommend 245/40/18 - just to be sure.

I would go with ET30 front and ET38 rear, but if you want to be on conservative side, go with ET32 and ET40 - the 10" wides should tuck about 5mm deeper, because they are wider.

Thanks I was surprized to see you went with a square set up?

The BBS's I bought - unfortunately - don't come in staggered sizes. I got them for a great deal, so I figured I'd give them a chance. If I really hate it, I'll get something else. But at this point, I just want to finish the major mods. I have a feeling I might be happy enough with it to just drive it the way it is and start saving up for a new project. Wouldn't mind something topless, mid-engined and with a name that starts with a "P"

Ok finding these sizes in the right price range is not as easy as I hoped. Looking at Miro 111 now as they have et32 19x8.5 front and et 40 19x9.5 rear. Ids et 40 still good for the rears with 9.5 instead of 10 or do I go for the et33 now ? Also who would you recomend I order these from. Thanks again for all the help, I will def give you credit when I post some pics.

Hello All and greetings from Finland!

This is my first post, but I have been reading the forum for some time and I really appreciate all the information I have received here.

I have a 2006 530xd touring with standard suspension and I would like to have a bit wider wheels with more aggressive offset.
I have found a nice set of Rondell wheels, front 8,5x18 et40 and rear 10x18 et35.
The tyres would be front 245/40-18 and rear 285/35-18.
I know the fronts would fit without problems, but how about the rears?
Would it come too far out and is ther enough inner clearance?
