I run with Smoked plate covers(Which are also illegal in WA) and have not had any issues. The smoked cover blends in very well with the TIA Grey and is a very subtle mod. I'd bet you get more hassle about no plate then one you can barely see. I'll see if I can find a good picture.

Also it protects you bumper from those folks that like to pull a little too close.

That just doesnt make sense... if you're to put on the stupid chrome roundal plate might as well put on the real plate. By then you've already ruined the lines of the car and your bumper is drilled already.
