hi,
got pull over at LAX "CHECK POINT"
if anyone going to airport, I suggest you put back the front license plate.
after 9/11, LAX have all the check point, and if you don't have a front license plate,
you will have higher chance to got pull over.
anyone know how to put the front license plate? I got the kit and screw, but cannot
find any place to put it on.
thanks

Hi there,
It's pretty much easy to do. But you've got to have a plastic base plate (same colour with your bumber) that comes with the car ... you can ask your dealer for it if you dont have it. Looking at the plastic base plate, there are two little hooks at the bottom that latch on to two slits below the bumper. Once you get this fitted, you can use a screw driver or power drill to drill in two black long screws into the upper two holes. Yes unfortunately holes have to be made in the bumper with this setup. <_< Once this is done, you now cover up the screw head with your prefered coloured plastic cap. All this looks very good actually. Now you lastly affix your plate on with the short screws using the two extra holes placed mid way.
Hope this helps

Man, I'm glad we don't need front plates in Pennsylvania!
What a way to ruin the look of a car -- not to mention drilling holes through the finished bumper skin!!

Unfortunatly I need a front plate in my state. I think I would rather get pulled over then do this to my car.
I mentioned this to my wife, she thinks I am insane. She actually said the words "It's just a car"?
Women don't understand the relationship between a man and his car.

I'd just pass on the front license plate. True, you can be cited for it in CA, but unless your driving silly or being a dick to a cop, they will more than likely overlook it.

here's what i've done, because i didn't want to drill holes:
went to PEP Boys, got some double sided moulding tape by 3M, and placed on side on the back of the plastic license plate mount frame along the edges and some on the middle and positioned it very carefully on where it's supposed to be on the bumper. held up pretty good, it's like 4 months now, rain or snow, it's holding!
good luck!
