Good point, forgot to mention that. It was a 50/50 incident with Kimi, but when you're that close to getting your first points, why take the risk. Live and learn hey
A smart boy must be humble sometimes to a man, to be a man

No progress in mankind this time on the track, but maybe still there's something

Sutil then later actually took the blame, even if Kimi earlier pointed out, that it was only a race accident.
Adriand and Kimi where racing for place and points, but coming out with cold tires and believe in a small
lean against a World winning driver... and loosing point for his racing team.

!!?But why did Webber get the penalty?

Totally with you on that. vettel comes to me as a humble chap who doesn't have to show any ego or wise cracks. All he wants to do is get in the car, race to his best and takes what ever comes his way. I respect that and hence he is my current favourite along side Massa.

Not everyone has to become bad if their foundation is already set well. I have a feeling Vettel won't become like many of the others.. all mouth to compensate for lack in skill. Hey but then, WTF do I know anything about F1. There are some true experts here!!

cheers

Looked like to me, and apparently race officials as well, that he cut over into Rubens and smacked him on the starting straight. But, he paid his debt, and still won. It was his day.

At the post race interview he implied that he'd been more aggressive in defending his position than he would normally be. He did not challenge the officials decision. For me it sounded as though he recognised that he had overstepped the mark (- sorry, couldn't resist) with that move and the drive-through penalty was understandable. (That at least is how I interpretted the interview.)

"Toro Rosso has confirmed that Sebastien Bourdais?s has been dropped from the team with immediate effect, bringing an early end to the Frenchman's disappointing second Formula 1 season."

Article linky..

I have always said, bringing a champion from the states into F1 isn't always going to pay off. The other way around is better. Not sure what it is but driving in F1 requires a lot more than what the State side drivers seem used to.

The day sebastien was confirmed coming into F1, I knew it was a matter of time before we have to read this article today.

cheers

Jacques Villeneuve did very well coming from CART. Also, loved watching Montoya piss off Schumi every once in a while.

Never liked Sebastien, couldn't care less if he did well in F1.

I bet Barrichello comes over to the states to race after his F1 career. He is very good friends with Tony Kanaan.

You have made some good valid points. I forgot Montoya. However didn't montoya have a lot of racing experience here in europe before heading off to CART? I would consider him more like F1 experienced (F3 or something) going to the States, kick butt and coming back. If I recall, there was some driver transfer that frank Williams did.

As for jacques,... don't even get me started mate.

Second good point is barrichello. If you ask me, I think he should have gone states sides a few years ago and made the best of it. Perhaps more retiring F1 drivers ought to go to USA and race but not Nascar. Montoya has showed in a specatuclar way, not all F1 greats can make it in Nascar. Nascar racing must be a different "form" of racing. Respect!!

Your post got me thinking, why is it drivers with F1 experience tend to shine when they head off to the states? Could it be a background in karting (younger days). Please tell me if most of the racing drivers in USA start young in karts. Might be a factor.

cheers

ps: Love your wheels!. really nice and goes well with the colour of your car.

Yeah Montoya did a year in Formula 3000 before coming over to race for Chip Ganassi in CART.

You can add Bourdais to list of failed F1 attempts. Along with Michael Andretti and Alex Zanardi (who actually is one of my favorite drivers, the guy is a true inspiration). I still remember this race with Alex Zanardi at Laguna Seca, the famous corkscrew pass (
). I was never a fan of Bourdais, when he was over here. Guess I have trouble pulling for a French man.

Recently the US racing transplants to F1 haven't been true American born racers. Gone are the days of Phil Hill and Mario Andretti. Hopefully somewhere out there, a kid is ripping it up on the karting circuit. Karting is pretty big here, even with the nascar guys. They grew up racing karts.

Thanks. I wasnt too sure of the steps race drivers take in their early years into the american racing scene.

Montoya was also testing for Williams before going to cart. I think I am right on that. Need to check.

Michael andretti had issues with Mclaren. it has been claimed that mclaren team boss favoured Senna and I think Hakkinen. Ron Dennis gave michael a crap car to make life unbearable thus making michael leave. Then hakkinen came in. Well it was some young driver that came in anyway. Why I mention this is because I do like the andretti family. Great history behind the name.

As for Zinardi,... he was a JOKE!. While everyone in F1 was using carbon brakes, he wanted the old steel ones. WTF!!!. That said when he left F1 I was damn happy. When he had his massive crash, I was damn sad. Ok so his F1 stint was a joke but he was a lovely man. Always with a smile.

When he came back into racing, you are 100% right. A true inspiration. I still catch him in touring cars. Last race he won it. came up to pick the trophy using two crutches. Wicked!! Great guy. I praise the guy nowadays.

Thanks for that clip. I love the corkscrew. I only get to see that track in MOTOGP these days. I make it a point to stay up and watch the race live. Excellent track. Here is my clip for you. laguna seca 2008,... Rossi vs Stoner. Rossi on a less powerfull bike while stoner on the best. Yet rossi fought till the end with every once of his skill and WON. Check the overtaking pass at the cork screw. [
] AWESOME!!!

Thanks for the chat mate.

cheers

ps: MotoGP compared to F1 these days is like comparing our BMW to a hyundai I10. hahaha
