Ok I got a resposne from Alex.br's source... the mirror he's going to provide is a wide angle glass...

Alex how does that look compared to the stock OEM? can you try to describe that as best you can?

Here's his response.

The glass I provided for Alex and what is also the
standard accompanying mirror pair I send with the M5 mirrors is the Heated
Wide Angle Glass (Part #'s: 51 16 7 897 547 and 51 16 7 897 548) They're
appropriate for LHD cars.? My standard price on a primed pair of these is
$1199.95 and painted version is $1499.95 per pair.? The kits include each
mirror assembly and each glass insert.?

If you're looking for the primed kits, I can offer you each set for $1089
including insured shipping.

If you're looking for the factory painted kits (VIN's required), I can offer
you each set for $1335 including insured shipping.

Thanks for checking up on this.
Basically, he's giving us a littles less than 10% off the mirrors.

I feel silly asking because it's probably a simple answer...what is "LHD"?

I guess I'm still interested but need to check with my dealer or body shop to see how much they'll charge to do the install...I will not do it myself! If I understand correctly...it's just plug-and-play, no additional buttons or switches? Can someone please confirm that? 'Cause if that's the case, I'm still in for a factory painted set. I'll contact Justin and let ya'll know as well.

It should be pretty easy enough for anyone to do, however, if there is a Service Manual it will make the entire job A LOT easier. The manual will tell you where every single clip is located to remove the door panel, where all the wires are running, etc.

Thanks for the vote of confidence...though I don't trust myself...I could probably do it. I'll check the intructions and see if I think I can handle it.

The mirrors glass looks like exactly the stock?s one. The only difference was that the M5 mirrors have a blue glass and mine OEM was white.

The right mirror that I ordered also don?t have the words: " objects in the mirror are closer ..."

'Kay, here's the deal: Justin from RoverActive explained that if you want "Electrochrom" on the mirrors, add $289 to the $1335 (factory painted). Can someone clarify what electrochrom is? Is this for the heated mirrors or/and auto dimming? If so, I don't need it in So. Cal. I may just go for the plain ones...I'll ask Justin and let you all know what it means.

BTW, Justin would prefer that you emailed him at RoverActive@verizon.net rather than the other "personal" email address. He can also be reached at 1-888-BWROVER.
