No price has been announced. Details should be released as we near July when the interface will be out. You may or may not lose the CD changer, but from the demos we've seen, it's pretty safe to assume you will.

Guess guess guess. Where's the proof?? I can have both right now with my Aux input. Now do you really think that BMW is gonna go backwards. Mine like your's is just a guess but I would bet my guess is more plausable

I've been thinking about this and I've worked out what BMW have done...

They've created an interface between the existing CD changer function and the iPod - that's why you'll lose the CD Changer capability. But I guess the capacity of the iPod outweighs the 6 CDs...

So when you select 'CD4' on your iDrive the sent signal is mapped to the 'select by genre' function on the iPod. iDrive knob signals are also mapped appropriately...

Therefore, in this configuration BMW should apply a change to their software that allows you to switch proper iPod functions on screen - this wouldn't be exactly hard!

I wonder how long it will take to have this available in Europe, not a sign of Ipod offerings over here. Looks not to be a global launch

Peter,

All you need is to copy and paste it to Google language tool and translate it to English. This tool helps me a lot with all auctions in Germ.
