No one is going to get an answer from AFE. I have heard through the grapevine that they are not going to respond ever again.

I feel partly responsible for this AFE fiasco. I was one of the very first people to have the AFE CAI on my 545i. I raved about it without any empirical evidence to back it up. Knowing what I know now, I would have removed the AFE CAI immediately from my 545i back then.
