K, Well got my Dyno appointment 2morrow! Gonna see how my car preforms. Im still thinking that I will see an INCREASE in hp with the AFE kit vs the stock box and I WILL test open hood vs closed. Now before I get banned I would like to explain. The temperature in the shade is on average 10 to 5c in Ottawa,Canada. I check last night. Now this is a big difference in temp from lets say MIA. Or anywhere in that regin of the states. What do you guys think? "Place yo bets"
What type of dyno? Dynojet? Mustang? Those dynos do not account for IAT. Save your money. Thats why none of the HAI companies test on a Dyno Dynamics.

Hey, Just got back from the dyno testing facility. I never even had a chance. They started off by trying to get a reading. Was told to rev up to 1500RPM while he tried connecting something in the engine, but still was unable to get a reading. This is the only dyno maching within 4h of my house. Does anyone know what could be the problem?
lol, what type of dyno? Sounds like those guys are experienced. lol. What they are probably trying to get a reading of is your rpm signal. hehe.

Where is afe man? He dissappeared. Possible reasons? Joe, when is the challenge going to take place?

I know you can dyno a AWD car, I've even seen it... APR here in Alabama works on Vw's and Audi s, guess what alot of Audi s are either Auto or DSG (SMG for Non VAG people) and AWD... Usually they used hub dynos.... Also why don't you put the car in manual mode, either with the stick or with the paddles if you have them...

This I found over at the N54 forums, Terry ( developer for the Juice box...) is going to test some CAI's this weekend including a Dual cone AFE. Yeah I know it is a 335i but it is a N54 with fundamentally the same intake system as most 535's. Hope fully it will show some differences....

This may just add more fuel to the fire. I know in most of his other dyno work the average Hp gains for all CAI's on N54 is .... 8HP....

I remember reading Mustang on the blue metal plates around those rollers. He even stated that I would need an AWD dynojet, but the closest one is 4h and 42min!!

It's true. You would need a AWD dyno for your 530xi.
