on a different note i just have to add. im really suprised some guys on here dont automatically know that. i mean we were all young. we all played with our cars. i dont know maybe its me, but didnt you ever fu^k around at a light when you were young and stupid? try and burn out. etc. i learned how to burn out the night i was taught how to drive standard. hence my need for speed addiction, but thats another story. lol. im just saying as a girl, you just assume most guys know how to do this stuff.. as i did and i used to assume its just "known" for men.. lol guess not lmao

No not from doing it occasionally. Of course if you make that your regular driving style than yes it would shorten transmission life as brake torquing does put tremendous load on the transmission. I've done it occassionally in all my cars and the tranny has never given out in the 50-60K that I have driven each of my cars before their leases end. I just feel sorry for the poor bastards who have boght my cars when their leases expired.

My view is simple. During the time of the lease, I am paying for the use of the car so I can drive it any way I want during the lease's term.
