Anyway, I was referring to a slamming upshifts to next gear but honestly, I'm not sure if 550AT had upshifts issues.
So I'll take back my words

Could be, I read the first page then skip to page 4 then I replied.
I guess I should've read all pages. I just hate to read people abusing leased cars(but now I get it what Scott meant by 'anyway I want').
Unfortunately, I can't delete/edit my previous reply.

I don't think Scott beats the snot out of his cars every day.... but who doesn't brake start once in a while
I, like many of us do, drive our cars hard. That is the way they were meant to be driven. But even driving the car hard will reduce engine/transmission life somewhat. It will also lead to increased oil consumption and shortened tire life. In my case, I've put in several quarts of oil over the car's 12K miles and am about to replace the OEM rear Contis -- as I am obligated to do under the lease.

I am not obligated to drive this high performance car like a 90 year old grandma and, if I was, I would get a far far less expensive car. I pay what I do for my car because I love to drive it. Indeed, what other reason is there to get a BMW 550 or M5 as both provide far far far more than just basic transportation from point A to point B?

There is a difference between driving the car hard and abusing the car such as doing neutral drops/constant brake torquing/doing donuts 24/7/running the car below minimum oil level/running the car without sufficient auto trans fluid or rear diff oil.

Wow, I didn't think this time of the day would attract many people!!
I replied like 10min ago then all the replies
Why can't I edit my reply after a certain period?
Anyway, I'm sure you understood what I meant right?
It's lunch break. The perfect time to make the most of a minor typo.

After a certain, limited period of time (about 20 minutes or so after you submit the post), you can do longer edit it. That's a feature of the board and there have been posts by the mdos/admins explaining why that is so.

WOW - I know I've been absent from this post since I started it few days ago. Didn't expect so many pages from what started out as a limited reply thread. Glad to see everyone voiced their 2 cents. I've read it all and learned a lot. Thanks.

Again, we put so much into our cars to make them faster and pleasant on the eye; why not enjoy them performance wise. No offense to women on the board, but most men wine and dine women and buy them nice dresses, cupcakes, etc. Well I for one expect to be made happy performance wise. Again, no offense to the women on the board.

A car is meant to be driven. How? That is a different question. Driven to me means, aggressively, like burnouts, speeding, takeoffs etc.. and also it means passively, calm driving, basically not to kill your car. A car is like a computer, the way you overclock your computer, or open as many programs and games you can is the same thing as you put your computer performance to max because that's why it is build for, same as for car. Don't get me wrong, I might be wrong actually, so correct me if I express myself in a different way and you disagree with it.
