Yea seriously that guy is right. Make the insurance claim already and just tell them you were so scared of the 300lb guy that you were convinced to walk away without calling 911. This doesnt make any sense by paying out of your pocket...
my parents also think we shouldnt make a insurance claim because of the rate going up...
so meh

also, i changed my mind about selling the car without any records being taken since its really unethical...
im planning to get it estimated this friday and hopefully get it fixed on the first week of may
ps. i never stated in any of the posts asking how i should avoid the record on my VIN

Man! That's sucks!
Looks like the body frame is also damaged a bit - this will be very costly to repair, if not impossible...

well frame damage is not serious but i think that it will affect how i will sell the car after fixing all these problems..
yes, ethically i would have to disclose any frame damage but theres just little dents from the door knocking into the frame...body chasis looks normal
driver's side front door has just a huge dent but all the electrical system works fine, rear driver's side door has a dent and a little bit misaligned due to the dent...but im not sure what is broken inside the doors...i just know that all the electrical systems work fine...
how would i have to get my car fixed? via bmw body shop?(having them replace 2 doors completely) or via local body shop (having them fix the dent and the window)
thanks for the input guys...

Simply, either you really need to have a damn good reason to walk away and not involve the "authorities" (non put forward thus far), or you simply can't see the metaphorical wood for the trees

I really don't mean to add insult to injury, but trying to lessen the stress levels here. Take a look:

"Drive by a higher standard"
The car is fixable. I've seen worse front-end damage that gets repaired.
You've already established the need to get this thing recorded so as not to endanger the lives of anyone you sell it to.
So you might have to pay extra to get it fixed, or pay more to insurance. Personally, I would put the insurance to work because of the extent of the damage. That's what they're being paid for.
Bottom line is, you'll live.

i decided to get this estimated by A-1 collision inc on powerline rd (i got my previous bmw serviced by them..great service) so it shouldnt be any problem...
regarding the insurance...i would have to check with the estimator first since i dont kno what the outcome will be..

im not sure if i should get the sideframe fixed but its upto the A-1 guys to figure out what damage the frame has (if it has enough damage, i'll get it repaired...its my life and my future buyer's life so i have to respect that)
also like somebody else said earlier in the thread...im surprised that the airbag didnt go off

I love this thread
OUCH!!! pay more attention, I live in Weston and the streets are very dark at night. I will say take it to an BMW bodyshop (I used BMW BRaman in Miami a couple times and they turned out to be OK) for an estimate. Its just an estimate (we should make a poll of estimates, I estimate $5000 if not fram damage) and that can give you an idea on what to do. they dont report that anywhere. After that you can opt to take it to your insurance, pay your small dedudctible or pay it off yourself. If insurance, I believe your policy increase 10% for the next year is the expense is more than $200.
Just my cents... man that looks like my former car..

Classic example of people with more $$ than sense.
There was no way it wasn't your fault, if you had the stop sign it was definitely your fault. It doesn't matter if it was a private road or not.
Also, who ever t-boned you was either driving illegally (suspended licence, DUI, who knows), or they're just plain retarded. If that were me, the cops and insurance companies would be all over you.
