Headrests are not really designed for you to rest your head, they are designed for protection from cervical spine injury during an accident. During regular driving your head should not be resting on the headrest, and regarding sleeping, no car is really designed for that, unless you count the old olds and caddies of the seventies with their massive couch for seats.

The proper height for these headrests is to centre them at the level of your nose.

But can't you have comfort and safety at the same time? I am willing to bet that the premium seats are just as safe too, and comfortable.

I remember reading a car magazine circa 1990. A reader has wrote in to the editor complaining that miata has bad noise insulation and poor radio. The editor replied that Convertibles are meant to be loud and thus good sound system ought to be irrelevant.

Today, we have many convertibles that are quiet with good sound system.

I guess you can have more if you demand it.

Hi All

I walked pass a 730iL today and noticed it also doesn't have comfort seat but has the same poorly designed head rest like our E60's.

I need to change my vote to "yes". I guess I have a big head. I just need to tilt it back a little and I'm fine though I don't usually drive like that.

The headrests suck!!! they are terrible!
Impossible to use except if you get a truck without brakes in your back.....
And in the 7, the non comfort headrests are even worst.
I miss my previous E46 and E39......

I hear u Tuga..... Good thing I started this poll, didnt realize so many of u also share my dislike for the head rest. I hope BMW is reading this and quickly come out with a better head rest as option equipment for us to purchase.
