I'm loving the dome light shutoff feature -- thanks!

So funny, just where i keep mine. My cell phone fits in there too when im too lazy to slip it in the snap in adaptor.

I hate stuff in my pockets.
An iPod fits in there real nicely, too. Run a patch cord from the headset jack on the iPod to the AUX jack and you can pick it up, change it, hand it around to your passengers, etc.

I use that method with an added twist. I always try to park with permanent structures to my right, (left if I backed into the space) i.e. columns, walls, grass dividers etc. The reason, there is a 100% chance that someone will open the drivers door of the car next to me. So, using my method that car's driver will open the door away from my car MOST of the time. Of course this does not stop passengers from dinging you but the chances are much lower. This method is also useless if the person backs into the space....but I find that people often will follow your lead, so if you back in, they will too, so don't.

One last parking tip, I always check my reflection in the car next to me to judge how close I am to that dredded bump stop.....my wife likes this trick, she ripped the outside temp sensor & other assorted parts off our E39 last christmas.
thank god im not alone....my fiance did not believe that other people spend as much time as i do contemplating the best parking spot. also, i honestly thought that i was the only one who considered the driver 100% chance of door opening vs passenger chances of opening....incredible

Here is another trick that I don't think any of you know about...

1) Stand behind car
2) Tap the BMW logo on your key 3 times
3) Kiss the BMW logo on your key ONCE
4) Spin around 3 times, while looking up at the sky towards god.

5) Open your trunk manually and WHA-LA!

A beautiful blonde, with every perfect feature you've ever dreamed of should appear.

If it doesn't work the first time, repeat immediately.

PS - This trick only works in very crowded parking lots with a lot of people around.

it worked!!! crazy thing is all the people in that parking lot started spinning and kissing their keys too...idiots, they dont have e60's

If you're in your back seat a lot for whatever reason (helping your kids get buckled, installing car seats, changing diapers, etc.) then set your seat memory "2" to all the way forward and all the way up for extra room. That way you just hit "2" when you're loading up and the seat moves out of the way for easy access. This also works wonders for those of us too cheap to rent a hotel room.

I guess this is more of a time saver than a "neat trick"...

Not really a trick, and I'm sure you all know about it, but I found it really cool...

If you run your finger over your 6 progammable buttons (don't press them), you get a preview of what the buttons do in tab form on the idrive screen.

How the hell do they do that? I find this amazing.

A neat trick would be for Russ to reappear from his hiatus. Hahahahaha! Where is that guy? I miss him. He always stirs up good stuff.

I never knew my side mirrors automatically unfolded (on LCI) after you start to drive...if you forget to unfold them beforehand. I found this out last night.
