That is strange mine mutes the Radio/CD while the Voice Command button has been pressed.
From my experience (US Spec. ), when the NAV lady gives a command the Radio does not Mute. I found that while she was giving a command I could use the volume up button to raise the her volume so I could hear her over the radio. Some times her volume would return to a lower level and I'd have to turn her up again.

The voice command Button does mute the radio but it is unrelated to the NAV instruction volume.

On my vehicle, when the navigation lady speak it lowers the radio/CD volume. You can adjust how loud the lady is by turning the volume up/down while she is speaking. On the other hand, when I select the voice recognition button on either the steering wheel or the center console it completely mutes the radio/CD volume. This only makes sense as the system does not like background noise. If there are others speaking in the car or the radio is on the voice results are not nearly 100%.

Just FYI

Thanks, I will try it again to see if it lowers it? Maybe I had the volume to low on the navagation voice.
