+1 another benefit its that its a good visual aid for when you want to know if you've locked the car!
good idea! never really thought of it that way. Many a times I have walked away and wondering whether I have locked the car and had to walk back just to make sure.

Any programming option, that would Turn OFF all manually turned on lights when u press LOCK on remote?

I wish they had this feature, so i dont have to keep turn on angeleyes only every day and sometimes forget to turn them off
I think all the lights will be switched off after 15 mins except for the parking lights. Do you have the daylight driving light feature in your car? With this you do not have to worry about forgetting to switch off the parking or low beam when you switch off the engine. Or the auto headlight feature will be good as well.

I never tried this, but I'll certainly will today going home from work.

But I can tell they won't automatically unfold on a Merc ML. I drove for about 7 km behind one with folded mirrors.....? I guess the driver never even saw me!

oh really.. yah my DRL feature was turned off by mistake last time I took it to dealer. I will get it turned on.

so if I have DRL programmed to be ON, then PARKing lights will off automatically after 15mins once i press lock on keyremote?

Thanks for the info. Folded mirror will unfold when vehicle speed is about 40km/h.

Actually I have not tried it out myself in my new car as I prefer to use the manual mode and have full control as to when I turn on the lights. According to the manual, DRL can be used in light switch position 0, 1, and 3. But if when DRL is used in position 1, parking lights will come on when ignition is switched off (think it is more like parking light will be left on instead of being switched on after ignition is turned off). So, I think if you use DRL in position 0 or 3 then all lights will be off when ignition is turned off.

Did not know that you can "program" this. Yes, by holding the lock button longer it raises the windows and then folds the mirror. On unlocking, the mirror unfolds as well. If you had folded the mirror with the button inside the car it will not unfold automatically when unlocking.
On my remote, pressing the unlock longer lowers all windows. But there isn't a way to raise all the windows. Is this a program issue?

Yes, thats the only option available in US cars.. only non-US cars can Close the Windows by holding lock key on remote longer.
