trace the side marker lights and tap into those

so you'll install those behind the glass of the side mirrors? I don't think they'll work unless you're also changing the glass that has an area of translucent silver for the lights to pass through.

They'll work. I watched a few diy videos on YouTube before I buy them. They were all installed behind the mirror and shined thru perfectly.

I was trying to find turn signal wires that I can tap to under the dash somewhere.

Not to get off topic about the wiring but I believe the back of the glass is covered in plastic.

Make sure when you do this to make a diy for future reference. I've taken the mirrors off the car a few times and I think it'll be an adventure trying to find a wire to tap, extending the short wires that come with the signals thru the back of the mirror housing into the car. Good luck.

I watched some of the videos on youtube and it seems simple enough, so have fun with it and post up some pictures/videos once you're finish.

take it up, into the roof lining, across to the A pillar on the driver's side, down behind this panel, tucked in between the body and back of dashboard plastics (this area is only visible with the door open) then into the driver's footwell.

From here tap into the Light module, pin 22 is left indicator, pin 39 right.

Pictures of the finished project will be greatly appreciated. Would love to see how they turn out.
