i was driving an 86 firebird i paid 800 bucks for. I AM SO THANKFUL i did not have a bmw at 16... even now, If i lost my job and had to take a hefty pay cut in salary and when my lease was up i had to say, put myself in a honda accord, I WOULD BE MISERABLE. life is definitely about working your way up... If you want to go only way, then a bimmer for the first ride is a recipe for unhappiness.

First car was when I was 18. 1979 Trans Am with t-tops. Original engine had been blown, someone put a Chevy 350 and a TH350 automatic in it, with headers, of course. I bought it for $200, drove it for 6 months, and blew the engine. Spun 2 main bearings, three rod bearings, broke two more rods, and snapped the cam. It was a MESS.

yeah, but if i am not mistaken, european cars are much cheaper for you guys, no? Keep in mind, if the muscle cars are rare there, the ones you see are nice. there are plenty of "muscle cars" here, like my 86 firebird, that are more at home in a trailer park then in the driveway of my parents beautiful home....
