would you say mapking is the best for HDB block info?

does vitas have hdb block info? i'm tempted to get it. believe it or not, i miss having the gps feature in my car. I found it really useful, even tho the bmw system is not supposed to be the best.

I like the fact that vitas outputs vga.

i've been sitting on the carputer idea on the car for a long time. busy and not sure if i wanna do pc or mac. keep procrastinatng
1. my bmw gps sucks big time! updates cost 1.1K. it took forever to enter the data, becuase you need to click on the idrive knob on every single letter. when you are finshed, about 10 min later..enter! the data is lost and you have to re-enter. By the time you arrived, no showing of POI near the vicinity...sucks!
2. mapking gives hdb info.
3. i do not see any hdb info on vitas, you can go to autobacs, they used to have a model on display.
4. VGA is good provided the resolution is high. Macmini can give VGA in S video...better!
5. Macmini can be booted in both ways, windows or mac. no brainer.
6. but all go to waste if your X5 is coming soon my friend. transfer?
7. X5 has more room to play, touch screen built in, girffin knob. i think motorised lcd touchscreen can be install above the dash..cool ah! Imagine this, push the griffin knob down, the motorised lcd panel rises, turn the knob with macro programmed, gps shows. click it, itunes playing MP3. Not enough? then select TV or radio..all through the griffin knob. touch the screen to select what you need. Short hands? no problem, all these are within reach.
8. i do not use my macmini often, but when needs arise, i love it! Glad i have it.
9. uh......when is the new x5 launching?
10. keke!

Flexible...thinking of either today at 6sharp... or tmr at 10am....

I work in Capital Tower.... where would u be located?

The key selling point is apparently more detailed map, HDB block number search, maps all the way to KL and traffic cameras...

It apparently also computes your distance and time to destination, based on route and average travelling speed....

Maybe my final choice would be based on how sexy the voice prompt sounds?

i am in tagore. near to Ed new place, north.
can't make it tonight at 6pm.

most gps computes time to dis. and distance.
the important thing is how often the updates is.

you can change the voice for garmin la.

i got this voice file that will "scolded and swear" at you in hokkien if you made the wrong turn. or if you are speeding (can be preset).

something like..."KNN *&^% ask you to turn, you don't turn! go find a f*&King u turn now!

quite fun initially but feel like throwing the GPS after a while...

i don't think you should install the lcd 7"screen.
i would suggest to buy only the gps module only. and install a v/interface using your CID.

Like this really look like my Soveriegn cab that takes me to the airport! ugly leh.
