You mean DMS is not permanent? Wow, that means money wiped away... really sad. Can you guys do back-up or something to preserve?
from what i understand, your remap will not be gone.
unless they have to erase the original before flashing. which has 2 firmwares here. even the engine management and the gearbox management has seperate firmware.
on top of that, you can go back to the person who flash the DMS for you and re-flash again.
my info maybe wrong but no harm trying.

if they r gonna change ur ignition points etc...ie remap ur torque to improve throttle response etc then ur dms will b gone. but dbs does offer a remap foc. i dun mind going back to solve some nitty gritty idrive problems etc..but reason im stuck at 16.2 is bcos i dun want them to reflash my ecu.

I asked this of Rob when getting the DMS done and he says the CIP doesn't effect the ECU.
Perhaps next time Rob's in town, we' can meet up with him for a check up, in any case if it is affected, he'll do the flash again, FOC.

Got hold on K&N filter and dropped it in on Friday. S$95. Filter works great, engine breath easier and throttle is lighter.
What beats me wasn't the K&N filter! It was whilst i was removing the OEM filter. DARN! when I popped the box up to my amazement (Ok! I didn't know if I have to check this regularly, do i?) i found tonnes on dried leaves; degraded sponge from the OEM filter sitting in the box.
How could the engine breath with those extra stuff going around the compartment?
Guys if you have not check your filter for the last 12 months, I suggest you do that, the sponge lining on the filter housing are turning into powder when you handle them. I have chunks on them dropping off inside the air box compartment.
Now I trying to figure out if i got those dried leaves sucked in after i had the M-tech kit or it was from original set up.
let me know if i am the only one running around with such choked lung!

Going to Raffles Hotel today, on Beach Road, saw a Ferrari Enzo!!! Couldn't believe it! There's actually one of these on our roads!!? Didn't see the plate, this car must be like S$2 million to get on the road here?
Did some spirited driving earlier today, chasing an Alfa 156 GTA who in turn was chasing a M3 CSL. I think my DMS is still there, I still get good torque from 2500rpm onwards.
he didn't visit the workshop, he came in parked at the side by the glass panel of the showroom. He left after about 5 minutes. When I first saw, i was getting ready for a poser, quick glance on the brake set up and rear boot confirmed it.

Finally installed the Hot Inazima voltage stabilizer. Wow! The gear change seems smoother and the engine is more reponsive. And its easier to crank the engine now.
Test drove a 520i with v19 and 19" with KW. The v19 makes lotsa difference, the D mode is very close to S. I wonder if thats the reason why consumption is higher after software upgrade?
I never thought 19" can be so comfortable. With the Var2 it oscillated a little on uneven roads, but is still bearable. We could have played around with the various settings if not because of time constraints. The ride looks good with 25mm drop, its just one finger separating the tyre with the fender. The drop will be even nicer with the M body kits.
