Just realised, on my way back from work....CIP 19.x also quickens the AFS slightly, now it feels more like the original 12/13.x versions, but preserves the heavier feel of more recent CIP versions. Quite nice.
Zag, Ferrari's aren't that out of reach, can get a 5year old 360 Modena or 7year old 355. It's the maintainence and insurace that will be killer

In fact, your 530 cost you something like SGD 258K right?
hehehe.. i wrote "if only" lah.
btw we all can afford a ferrari, it is just after that some of us will have to live and sleep out of the prancing horse, and every now and then scrapping leftover from food center tables for dinner after filling up the car first.

by next year, if there is a new 530, then i change lor. it is never ending to what level you can attain.

speed only on the track, not on the roads. that's what i always believe. safety first.
IN a BMW, i always feel safe. which is most important.
as to which is more value for money, i believe BMW has a reason to change to 523 instead of 520.
And 545 to a 540 and a 550
tough choice.
just take one, and be happy with it!
good luck and enjoy!

Hi Folks,
Anyone (apart from Edlee) has gone in for the CIP 19.x upload? I got my ride back yesterday and feel it's slightly more responsive, even more so than er....the last one, the one that caused the eyebrows to disappear, but fixed the sluggish tranny response of 16.2. Engine also seems smoother, hmmm, maybe it's just me?
Anyway, I also went in for the comfort seat squeaks,? it was driving me nuts. Olivin530's solution of WD-40 to the stuff below the seat only worked for a while. According to the CSR, they removed my seats and did some stuff (not sure what) but it seems to work, squeaks are gone, I wonder for how long though.?

I went in for "retuning" of the engine of my 520i last Friday after complaints of hesitation. After a day and a half in the shop, the CSA told me that my software has been upgraded to CIP 19.x. from 16.2 and the slow pick-up problem for the 520i has been addressed.
I agree with you that the car is more responsive at lower revs and is now much better for city driving. The steering is now heavier, better feel for the road.
I wonder if the upgrade included changes to the engine ECU and over-rode DMS's re-mapping. Does any body know ? Thanks.
lmk, I totally agree with you. We can compete to see who is the slowest BMW driver in Singapore. Being happy and safe is the most important. Speeding that few km on the ECP is not good enough a reason to get a more powerful model. Hardly gets your adrenaline pumping before you have to brake and stop.

Could anyone tell me where is the best car accessories shop in Singapore, like a car supermart? I mean for general stuff, not just for BMWs. Thanks.
