75%

Of cos my ideal solution is to use the sharkfin, but i failed.
Alternate solution; i am using the included ant. placed it inside the car on the rear board. (look like a police car from behind) it is magnetic therefore it will not move around.
i have to say, of the 5 ant i tried from those with booster to null, none perform better the stick!

so i am sticking to it!

bugaboo, good luck! tell the lady that you are recommended by the guy who bought the remote control from her and pay her 190 incld GST. ( that's what i pay)

Guys,

Sorry I couldn't make it to the meet up on Sunday, tategoi might have mentioned it. Was busy as it was my last day in Singapore before coming back to UK. Have to meet up next time I'm over again. Maybe around Chinese New Year!

Cheers

hi all

need advice on which car to get here are the prices quoted....
330 $203k
523 $172k
525 $208k
530 $245k

i am a current 318 driver wanted an up grade, initially to a 523 at 172k.but another 22k i can get a 525 which is very tempting.so i am now willing for a 525 at 208kbut then the 330 is only 203k more power and omph factor but smaller car.

stuck and can not decide 525 or 330.the 530 is above my budget.

can the brothers here kindily advise which one to get and are these the best price offered

1)between 523 (172k)and 525( 208k)save alot if i get 523
2)330 and 525

i want power and comfort thats my problem but not rwilling o spend 245k for 530.

thank you very much in advance

regards taser singapore

The prices you quoted, do they include the rebate and 3-yr service package? They look a lot lower than when I inquired in August despite the rise in COE in September.

I disagree with the rest. I think 523 is better value-for-money than 525 for the same engine. GPS is pretty useless in Singapore. Active steering, comfort seats etc.. are options you could add without paying that extra 36K or whatever. If you want a bigger engine get the 530, 540 or 550. But IMHO 3000cc+ should go with the 7 series. I would get the 523 and probably spend on 18" rims and tyres.

By the way does any one know when the "start/stop" button version of the 5 series will arrive in Singapore?

Hi Titanic. Welcome to the forum.

Well, 523 or 525 is always an individual choice; just as some men prefer thin and lanky women whilst others prefer those who are better endowed.

As for the start/stop, all cars (E60 and E63) manufactured from September onwards will have them. Expect the new shipments arriving from end Oct onwards to be equipped with this function.

Hi Folks,

Anyone (apart from Edlee) has gone in for the CIP 19.x upload? I got my ride back yesterday and feel it's slightly more responsive, even more so than er....the last one, the one that caused the eyebrows to disappear, but fixed the sluggish tranny response of 16.2. Engine also seems smoother, hmmm, maybe it's just me

Anyway, I also went in for the comfort seat squeaks, it was driving me nuts. Olivin530's solution of WD-40 to the stuff below the seat only worked for a while. According to the CSR, they removed my seats and did some stuff (not sure what) but it seems to work, squeaks are gone, I wonder for how long though.

They probably changed the rails like they did mine when it was brand new. No noise after that.

titanic, welcome to the forum!
it all really depends on if one enjoy spirited driving as oppose to comfort cruising point a to b. Then really value for money will be the lexus GS300 for that purpose; and MB if one wants to stick with german marque.
so if it is for typical commute driving then yes 523i is good enough. BTW i don't think AFS can be retrofitted after it left the factory.
bimmer are meant to be driven hard and tossed around at corners and the way of bimmer is what brings smile to the one behind the wheel.

again different stroke for different folks. such as the same post at bmw.sg brought a variety of response.

as for me, if i only can afford to indulge S$210k... i'd go for 330i but then again darn! the AFS and bi-Xenon add-ons cost additional S$20k for the e90.

cheers

Oh Zag, stop being humble. Man, we all know you can even afford a Ferrarri if you wanted one.

In fact, your 530 cost you something like SGD 258K right?

hehehe.. i wrote "if only" lah.
btw we all can afford a ferrari, it is just after that some of us will have to live and sleep out of the prancing horse, and every now and then scrapping leftover from food center tables for dinner after filling up the car first.
