That's a new model . It's called an M2.5. I've actually seen a couple of them and their numbers seem to be growing. What can I say other than imitation is the best form of flattery. But personally, the wholesale M5 look right down to the side grills and quad pipes is not for me. In my view, this look is akin to announcing "I like the M5 but can't afford one." I wonder whether this phenomenon is prevalent only in Singapore. I've seen many incidents of this, most notably - Toyota Harriers dressed up as Lexus.

Like that how to consider the M5? You'll be paying SGD 470K only for the pariahs to hijack the look. Honestly, I would like to be seen and recognised as driving a pure M5 if I am paying that kind of money.

Real turn-off isn't it? I think PML/BMW should do something more drastic to differenciate the M5 look now that it is surely coming in.

Looks like before long there'll be a few M6.3 flying around the roads here also.

If thats the case, better save the money and buy a Porsche. Even if some dimwitt tried to copy using an old Volkswagon body, it'll just come off as another piece of ....

PML/BMW; if you guys are reading this, please step up your control on the parts sales.

Check out the picture I posted on pg 191. This guy's even got the M gills at the side with the M5 logo. Neat job.

Couple of tell-tale signs to identify a "copy":

1. road-tax disc
2. non-M5 rims
3. the speedometer
4. absence of throatier acceleration
5. always in lane 2 - 4 on our expressway
