Couple of questions.

I'm currently at 12K+ km, should I send in for servicing or wait till idrive tells me I should?

Still haven't got the 16.2 upgrade, anyone knows if PML has the 17.0 software already? Thinking of sending the car in for both servicing and s/w upgrade if 17.0 is available.

Another question, what does your idrive report on the brake pads? mine says 3.4K km. Not sure if I should change these also.

BTW, saw the new facelifted 730i on the road today...very nice!

The recent price drops at PML have been crazy. Those who bought the cars early always suffer . Look at the current price of the new 3 . It is now about $10,000 below the launch price barely 3 months ago.
The 5 has dropped around $18,000 from December . Yeah, both these EXCLUDE depreciation.

But nothing , absoluetly nothing beats the price drop of the X3 .

In Dec 2004 , it was around $200,000 .In early May 05, it was around $175,000 . It is now ( June 05) a mere $165,000 !
If you bought an X3 in Dec 2004, you are looking at a depreciation of at least $60,000 in 6 months . Wow?..

After extensive enquires . I now better understand why.

BMW has set PML's quota for the whole year at 3600 cars . To date, PML's numbers have been utterly terrible.
They barely did 647 (as of April 30)
see http://www.mta.org.sg/stats.htm , http://www.lta.gov.sg/corp_info/doc/M03-Ca...20by%20make.pdf
(figures updated monthly)

So is PML sales getting desperate ? Well , even Senior management is micro-managing daily sales , at a personal level !

When would be a good time to buy ? My guess would be in December , around Christmas?that will be when PML starts slashing prices BIG time when they know they can't hit the numbers .

If they do not hit their targets , well, I'll venture to say that Santa Clause will not be sitting on his rock saying ho ho ho?.
He's just be yapping away ?saying , kxx ni nar bei ?.LOL...

Yes, I agree with you. The drop in prices is terrible. But in terms of upgrading of cars, I believe the drop in resale prices are comparable. If you look at it that way, then you probably won't lose as much.

I can't understand the range of E60s that PML brings in. The difference between 523i and 525i isn't very much, except for their standard packages where the 525i appears to have more features thrown in. The differences in the number of horses under the hood is also quite neglible. Could it be a marketing gimmick ? <_<

What reason are you giving PML to get the upgrade ? I need some pointers to demand one too.

In my case, it's to get mp3 playback. I was supposed to go in for 16.2, but never got around to it. If you have that annoying message during startup, that's a good reason to give.

Toto, I ordered the 166m rims. The two rear ones are here but the front ones are not. My friend Sam (whom u met at the last meet) also ordered them. But his are all the small rims meant for the front.

U want them? U can have my order. As u know, I may no longer need them come end of the year.

Just sent my ride in for 1st oil change. Meter shows 1700km to go, but what the hell; since my ride is already there to fix other problems.

Also, I heard that there are 6 x 545i in Singapore. Russo saw one in blue and we all know theres another one in olivin. Anyone else sighted any other?

eggz, if your car is more than 12 months old, they will accept your booking for servicing even though the idrive did not tell you so. If it is less than 1 year old, they will discourage u from sending as they have too many jobs on hand.

Tell them the engine very jerky and sometimes about to stall. I told them that and they had no choice but to upgrade software.
