I was told Nav is in DVD (to be retrofitted juz below the front CD player) which most of us do not have .? Furthermore the idrive screen would need to be changed to the wide screen version and the whole retrofit would not be economically attractive.

No. There is also an option called navigation business. It works with the M-ASK instead of the CCC and does not require the bigger screen. It can not display maps, but guides you with arrows and voice.
I just don't know if that can be retrofitted in Singapore...

From what I was told, the ones that will be fitted here will require the bigger screen, etc. However, I was also told that the dvd will be located at the rear? Could it be that they have modified the 7 series navi for retrofit into the 5 series?

Was there on Friday afternoon. Saw a 7, a M-kitted 5; don't recall seeing any convertible inside the showroom. Saw one silver outside though; think it was a test car. Didn't pay attention cause I was distracted by the red ferrari next to it.

The showroom is quite messy right now cause they are doing renovation. The service advisors area keeps shifting around.

If you are talking about delivery, they do it at the Bukit Timah branch. Not in Alexander.

I was there on Friday as well. I went for a test drive on the 645. Yes, I saw the 630 convertible. Did you also notice that the coupe that was also in the showroom is actually a 6 spd manual? There was a "SOLD" tag on the windscreen. Buyer must be quite a brave person to buy a manual. The resale value isn't going to be very good.

Ah Ed, how was the test drive?
i am arranging for a test drive as well soon. 645ci loaded is a more poweful car, however the 630i based on review in the UK is a more balanced car.
My sales rep told me 6 series price is very rigid no discount whatsoever (true?)! They increased the 630i by $5K to $285K to include the NAV which will be standard on all 6.

Speaking of the 6, I was real surprised to find that the 6 is actually longer and wider than the 5, but has a shorter wheel base, which means a little more over hang front and rear.

Ed does the 6 feel quite similar to a 5?

My dad paid $279k for his 630i. He said he saved a few thousands due to the drop in COE.. so now all the 630i has NAV ?

Wah Zag!! The two of us always end up at the same place at the same day. There must be some affinity between us.

Yup. The 630 will have navi and is priced at 285K. Thye 645I is priced 50 K more. However, if you look at the list of options available as standard on the 645 versus those on the 630, the final price is very much closer. Call me if you decide to get one. I'll get something off for you. You need to be "in the know".

I did my test drive in the 645. They do not have a 630I available for test drive; only the 630CI which is heavier. It weighs slightly less than the 5. The 6 feels alot more different from my 545. Most importantly, there is a little sports button that is supposed to stiffen the suspension and somehow reduce the assist of the power steering. It felt very normal in the usual drive mode but really came alive in the DS mode. It really feels very different in terms of acceleration; maybe this is psycological, but I really did notice quite a diffrerence in the pull. The ride is alot stiffer and more assured. I really like the car and would have gotten one long ago if not for the hush puppy look.

I am waiting for the availibility of the 630I test drive car.

Hi Tategoi,
How are you?

The Angel eyes on the E90 might be "floating" but remember its only on the E90 with the Bi-Xenon option.? Non Xenon E90s do not have the angel eyes.? I noticed that before my salesman knew about it.?

Hey BMW530, I have never felt better after viewing the E90 earlier. The floating eyes of the angles are indeed very nice, thats the highlight of the D3, but thats about all. As a whole, the E90 is disappointing, no increase in the heart beat when the car was unveiled. No matter what, the 5s will always be the bigger brother of the 3s.

I had a chance to test drive a 730i at Tanglin Cars yesterday, the 7 might be heavier, but the power-to-weight feel is so much better compared to my 520. The ride is firmed and yet comfortable, was it the suspension or the longer wheel-base, or what?

Now it would be great if I can test drive the 6-series. The car is my dream car, heart is willing but wallet says no go. The 645 is a very well-speced ride, with OMV of only 100k but selling at 330k (car cost is 260k with 20k COE), it takes a deep pocket and a very generous personality to sign on the dotted line. BTW, what is the OMV of the 630? The 630's standard rims really CMI leh.
