Eggz, sorry to hear that. It will cost a few thousand dollars to replace but if your car insurance covers the windscreen, you will be able to claim. If the crack is small, would not be a problem driving the car around as the glass is tampered glass and does not shatter easily.

Aww crap! Just realised I have a crack on my front windscreen. Must have been caused by some flying object during the drive back from Sepang.

The crack's in the position just left of the rear view mirror and I actually did't see it till this morning.

Problem is, I really need the car for running around at the moment.

How dangerous is it if I left it for a few days? Any idea what the replacement cost will be?

Shit happends!? :'(

Phew! spoke to the PML guy today and found out it's covered by the insurance. Will not affect the NCD. Will make appointment to get it replaced. It will take 2 days, because they have to check for wind noise and water leaks. If not for insurance, it'll be about $1500

Eggz, if its any consolation, I replaced the front windscreen of my e46 RECENTLY. Glad to say that the PML guys are good at this. Look for Stanley and you'll be in safe hands.

Anyway, the E60 meetup has improved in attendance over the last and I would like to thank all who turned up to share our little experiences.?

Eggz, how's Sepang?? Maybe you would like to share with us your thrills up north.

And here's wishing everybody The very best for the New Year and a Merry Christmas.

Hi Toto. Thats the very same reason I gave too. However, my problem occurred in SIN and not up North.

Lets hope Eggz' windscreen insurance covers the cost. Some policies have got preset limits. If thats the case, all he'll have to do is increase it by paying a small premium and send it in for replacement later.

I KNOW FOR A FACT they are reading this forum. They had better pay attention to our woes because we are showing unity here and unity is strength.

Let us get more SG E60 owners to participate in this forum. The decals will be a great way of inviting others in. Our sponsor has concluded that he'd do a simple one which acts as a road tax disc pocket too. Cool. Let's distribute these around once they are done.

We can discuss our problems once our SG base grows and reasonably "convince" PML or BMW AG that they MUST solve the common ones.
