DIY maintenance for the DPF...

How do you get such detailed error reading in INPA?
Mine has 3 errors:
4262A cyclinder 6 glow plug
480A 71 DPF
481A 71 PDF
What do the 71 mean after the code?
Also some how I managed to get a grahical read out of the O2 sensors on a E46 in INPA. Which option do i have to go to do this on my E60?
Cheers.

Hi.
Sorry I don't remember all the functions in INPA and it requires to be connected to a car to get into menus... And I'm not in my car just now .
But, you need to read the DDE error memory in the engine section to get the detailed error descriptions.
edit: Have you checked whether you have the "separate" DPF or the "combined" version with the catalytic converter?

Oh, by the way, another DPF was washed today from my friend's E61 that was suffering the power loss.
The symptom was the loss of power on higher revs, but not as total as I had. The errors in DDE memory were again the 480A and 481A; DPF heavily clogged.
The air charge control error was not present, so his turbo was working, but because of too high back pressure, the car wasn't fully working.
We dismounted the DPF (and it was exactly as PITA as mine was to get that can unfastened ), then we washed it AND drilled a 15mm diameter hole through the cells. Put it back, cleaned the error memory with INPA and she was ready to go .

Anzafin, thanks for the great DIY.
What was the mileage of your car when you did it? Is all still fine?
For folks who want to go for DPF cleaning, the following link might be worth to look at. Possibly a good cleaning formula. I found it at Polish BMW forum - neither tried myself nor read review done by a user. Posting it as it "looks" good :

There was 114500 kms in the clock when this happened to me. Now there's 118000 and everything is still fine.

Thanks Antti. Mines the combined cat/dpf. I cannot find anyone who has done the removal/cleaning on the internet for my engine type. I think I will try to force the regeneration a few times by using BMW DIS first but i can't seem to find the GT1 base download anywhere.

San1, this is what I found from TIS concerning removing the DPF/Catalytic converter:
