mathmos - I've edited my first post, and added a link to your website.
Have you thought about some Google ads...just to pay for the web hosting
I've been thinking about postcode searching. Apparently 2006-1 works but 2006-2 doesn't work. I wonder if it's simply a problem with ENG.ASC. And if so...we could fix it
Finally got an ISO editor, so I've now got speed cameras on my screen
Now to be a little more adventurous. Thinking about tampering with the groups. I'll post the results soon. Just need to buy some mroe DVDs.

The idea behind the site wasn't to make any money, it was just a means of publishing the information that was easy for people to find and follow.

mathmos, any idea why I get these errors when processing .asc files?
Can't take log of -1 at createidxurl.pl line 45, <FILE> line 175.
In fact they are .csv files, from GarminPOI.co.uk, but they look OK. Some convert OK, and some give this error. I can't see why.
It was mentioned a few posts ago that you needed to order the entries, but having checked that I'm sure it's not right. Files that work don't have them ordered. And if I order them, I still get the error.
Also, the perl script produces files called "idx" and "url". I thought it was supposed to create 9000.idx etc. Or whatever name you choose.

If it's a CSV format file, you can use it. Check mathmos' site (link in 1st post of this topic).

Here's the results of my "groups hack". I've successfully added 2 groups. One for speed cameras, and one for favourites.
I created a list of company offices. Using postcodes, I translated them into long/lat using SteetMap.co.uk, and then created my own ASC file, and company logo (gif). Not because I need it, just because I could
