J/k Michael is THE. MAN. when it comes to this stuff, y'all - seriously, best vendor ever. Can't say it enough. I actually sort of wish I needed some DPE's and a new set of brakes, so I could order more stuff from him... okay, I really just want some concave DPE's, and I cannot justify the expense, because I have a wedding coming up (unless we get into a fight and it is off

This is great info. Of the wheels listed in the initial posting in this thread, are there any that do not require lowering the car? I've read other places that 18's do not deem lowering but 19's do. However, as v_therussion says I am a little skeptical of that.

^no wheels in the world "require" lowering a car! what are you trying to say? The size of a wheel has nothing to do with if a car needs to be lowered. Cars "need" to be lowered for tighter handling. Any other reason is a "desire", not a "requirement"
For example, my larger tire size fills my fenders very nicely, as if I'd lowered by 12mm, but it's not at all the reason I run larger diameter tires. I could do the same thing with 19 or 20 or 17. None of these "require" lowering but some people think looks are more important than function.
You can use 19's with a 26.7" tire and if the rim is set out near the fender, looks flush, the image will be pretty tight even though it's not actually lowered.
Here's mine with 8.5x18" ET 29 on 1" larger than stock, 26.7" tires (245/45x18). It allows me to drive just about anywhere, in fact I have 1/2" more ground clearance than the stock car which is better for snow, rough roads, or out of control parking lot speed humps and bad curb cuts.

I like how tight lowered cars look except for how the gap gets so wide at the bottoms of fenders even though it's tight at the top. I prefer the equal but tight all the way around the fender/tire gap.
I could run a 27" tire, which is stock for the M5 by the way, but there aren't the right choices in 18". If I end up with 19's sometime, then I'll run the stock m5 size tire.

I appreciate your feedback and please pardon my incorrect phrasing, as I've long been a car lover but not much of a modder. So, this vocabulary is new to me. By "required" to lower, I really just mean to look good.I know some wheels can go on and not technically require lowering, but anyone looking for some aesthetic pleasure (i.e. me and I would wager all on this forum) would stress that lowering is darn-near required.
At the moment, I want to put on some wheels but that's all I am making budget for. So, I am looking to figure out some wheels that will look good, ride well, and essentially be "plug and play."
Thanks again,

Anyone know if the Miro 111's will fit and look right on an Xi without lowering?
